Hi, Unfortunately the dapfs code has got rather out of date and does not work with recent kernels. If you look on the sourceforge site then you'll find the most recent copy of the code which might work with the kernel you are using, but I haven't tried it myself. What you need is the kernel patch for dapfs and then to rebuild your kernel with that enabled as a filesystem type, Steve. > > Hi, > I install dnprogs-2.23-1.i386.rpm, latd-1.18-2.i386.rpm . All is ok and correct. And now I want to use the program dnmount and i do not known how can I it use. I read in The Faq, that I need dapfs, but I do not know how I it install. > Tell mi please what can I do. Hi, Is eth0 recognised as a DECnet device? If its not in the list in the /proc/net/decnet_dev file you won't be able to set it as a default device. Maybe the MAC address doesn't match the DECnet address ? Again I try run dnping 'node' and still failed with the message "socket: No route to host" :-(. > > thank you very much for your answer. > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware > With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine. > WITHOUT REBOOTING! Hello, we're currently looking into using PHP to access our RMS database over DECnet. Anyone out there using this care to comment on how well it works, and or where one might find some documentation or mailing list associated with it??? I've looked through google, but to no real success. Thanks a bunch in adance. Steven |

Ack, I found the problem was in the fact that dnping sends the invalid username "linux" by default. So after figuring out how to properly form the syntax for sending a valid username and password, all worked fine. Thanks to all who took the time to read my message. :-) On Monday 11 August 2003 04:50 pm, you wrote: > Help please! Extreme newby here. > > I'm trying to setup phprms. Help please! Extreme newby here. I'm trying to setup phprms. But even before that, I thought it would be important to just test some basic connectivity. So I set out to run the dnping, but received the following errors: cortez root # dnping 1.103 Write: Transport endpoint is not connected cortez root # dnping 1.1 Write: Transport endpoint is not connected cortez root # I have a Gentoo Linux box with decnet compiled as a module. The module is loaded. We've set the MAC address to: AA:00:04:00:67:04 and our node number is: 1.103 and here is the relavent info from our decnet.conf file: #Node Node Name Node Line Line #Type Address Tag Name Tag Device #----- ------- ----- ----- ----- ------ executor 1.103 name CORTEZ line eth0 node 1.1 name SPEEDY cortez root # lsmod Module Size Used by Not tainted decnet 58796 1 usbcore 39808 0 (unused) tulip 42592 1 Can anyone please help? I've done some searches in google for the error message, but it appears to be fairly generic and common message. I've also read the FAQ, and haven't yet found anything. Any ideas would be extremely appreciated. Thank you so much in advance. Steven -- Know your neighbor.
