Hi, I understood this as a request for a php-only class that does not depend on the cooperation of a hosting company. The AS compiler in ming is built using lex and yacc, so there is no real way to turn the result into plain php. However, Esteban's example scripts are quite simple ... no loops, functions, etc. I have written some php-only stuff to set variables, and/or call methods - at http://www.fontimages.org.uk - check the "about passing structured data" entry. Esteban, IIRC Ming already builds into an own classfile. That doesn't necessarily mean your provider will allow you to load it into PHP. --strk; On Thu, Jul 20, 2006 at 01:31:56AM -0600, Esteban Mata wrote: > I have been exploring the Ming functions and i found it REAAAALLLY usefull > and powerfull. > Soon i was thinking in a lot of projects and things that i could do with > Ming joining PHP and ActionScript. > > But then, i did my first experiment in a real webserver... and found that > many of my favorite paid-hosting servers doesn't have installed the Ming > extension for being Experimental... that totaly screwed up my > (taking-over-the-world) plans... > Then i tried other php to swf libraries, but no one is so easy to use and > flexible for producing actionscript as ming is... > > So this is my question. > Q1. > Does anybody knows of an library or class file that i could simply include > in my projects to generate an swf with only ActionScript.??? I have been exploring the Ming functions and i found it REAAAALLLY usefull and powerfull. Soon i was thinking in a lot of projects and things that i could do with Ming joining PHP and ActionScript. But then, i did my first experiment in a real webserver... and found that many of my favorite paid-hosting servers doesn't have installed the Ming extension for being Experimental... that totaly screwed up my (taking-over-the-world) plans... Then i tried other php to swf libraries, but no one is so easy to use and flexible for producing actionscript as ming is... So this is my question. Q1. Does anybody knows of an library or class file that i could simply include in my projects to generate an swf with only ActionScript.??? I don't care about polygons or color or any graphic at all... i just want to generate and SWF file with ActionScript content, and no limited only to "play, stop, gotoandplay" and that... i want to generate any actionscript that i want to, like "_root.var = 3; _root.movieclip1.method(); this.unload();". I have done it with ming and works...!!! Q2. If there isn't a library or class like that... my other question would be: Can you please, oh mighty and brightfull Ming-developers write an class file based on Ming that i could just include in my own files so we don't have to worry about if the server doesn't have installed the ming extension??? I'll be expecting any answer... Sorry for my last message, i sent it without the goodbye and thanks.. So. Thanks for any help. Truthfully your: Esteban Mata. mat...@gm... |

Hi list,
A weird issue (win32).
I'm adding SWFFillStyle's to a single shape:
<code>
SWFShape shape = newSWFShape()
for(i = 0 ... 500)
{
/* get some random colors */
randomColors(&r, &g, &b);
/* SWFShape_addSolidFillStyle takes care of duplicates, if any */
SWFFillStyle fs = SWFShape_addSolidFillStyle(shape, r, g, b, 255);
/* set style */
SWFShape_setLeftFillStyle(shape, fs);
}
</code>
Now: SWFShape_setLeftFillStyle throws 'invalid fill-idx'...
But weird thing is: when I catch this error using Ming_setErrorFunction
following calls to SWFShape_setLeftFillStyle DO succeed ????
Problem seems to be occurring when there are lots of fillstyles (+255) added
to a single shape (and added *fast*). But apart from occasionally throwing
the error I can easily add 500 or so styles per shape.
This is I guess the Ming code involved: (shape.c#760)
<code>
if ( SWFFill_getIdx(fill) > shape->nFills )
SWF_error("Invalid fill idx");
</code>
Anyone got an idea why this would be occurring?
I'm stumped.
Thanks,
Tim

Since we're talking about it, I just committed some code for testing the actioncompiler. I think it will come andy when trying again the AS2 path. BTW, it seems that what we were calling AS2 is actually AS3 and that we actually support most AS2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ActionScript) --strk; |

Thanks for these. I've got a re-write of the *am files under test almost
ready to commit. I've incorporated the parts of these that still apply, so
they will show up when I commit the stuff I'm now testing.

As I said, the setScale function wasn't really having any effect on the embedded SWF size, that's why I reverted to the more sane scale of 20 (at least the SWF contains an image with size matching the input). --strk; |

I remember changing a hard coded scale value from 20 to actually use the value given by setScale, but that's about it. Sounds like you've been looking at the code a lot more than me recently, and it'll be a while before I need to look at the ming code again. + Justin > --strk; - -- The Flame Project - Open Source GUI for animated SVG & Flash http://www.flameproject.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFEp9eKFAuZn5lS2IMRAhmyAJ4+DOegIf4UATfrqJX1fjGSsKEbQACfck4A rVM/+mOT+jKBVeo/0kA7CEw= =YvyR -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

I've taken a loog again at this. I don't really think that Ming_setScale() should change the size of any imported bitmap, and I find behaviour in 0.3 more correct then in 0.4. I reverted Justin patch. Justin, if you can explain the rational for your change it could help finding a good strategy. --strk; On Tue, May 09, 2006 at 08:53:46PM +0200, strk wrote: > Acc.. another problem in Justing patches :( > With Ming head I'm having troubles importing > jpegs into swf movies.
