well thats not 100% correct.

local/http-playback of flv-file is supported since flash-player version
7.

Thank you so much for getting your hands on this. I've been having the
same problem (i.e. my site has been broken) for months now.

Could you please copy the getInput function you used? Or simply send
me the whole ming.c?

Hi!
Got the cvs version working on my suse glibc-2.2.5-177 box
with apache 1.3.9 and php 4.3.4

But there is still some trouble with the php extension :-(
The original code produces the following error when i create
a new SWFBitmap:

/usr/local/httpd/bin/httpd: relocation error: 
/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20020429/php_ming.so: 
undefined symbol: php_file_le_socket

As workaround i replaced the
getInput function with its old version and commented out
all occurrences of php_file_le_socket,  php_file_le_popen  and 
php_file_le_fopen.

Now loading jpgs works, but may be somebody can explain me the meaning 
of those
symbols?

A newbie here wondering how Ming works.
 
Specifically, does Ming some how manage the Macromedia Flash Application (in pretty much the same way that Visual Basic can manage Excel) ?
 
OR
 
Does Ming create a file on its own that is a SWF file that wasn't created using the Macromedia Flash application?

FLV-file you can use ffmpeg.

Hi,

can perl's makefile be made aware of the config.make file in the toplevel dir.
If ming is built with gif or png support, perl should load these libraries as well.
If I add library dependencies manually, things work fine

It did with earlier versions of PHP, but the version (0.2a) on the Ming
website doesn't currently compile as a module with PHP 4.3.4 (and I =
assume

SWFBitmapData_fromXXX plus I made the USE_GIF & USE_PNG changes in =

And the result when I try to make in php_ext/ ...

ming.c:386: warning: assignment from incompatible pointer type
ming.c: In function `zif_swftextfield_setFont':
ming.c:3675: warning: passing arg 2 of `SWFTextField_setFont' from
incompatible pointer type"

And as expected, the ming extension just junks from PHP, this time =
without
explaining any errors. It just doesn't work, doesn't show up in =
phpinfo()
and screws up (dies) if any ming code is used if loaded with dl().

BTW, code from CVS still isn't compiling for me either, but I won't =
comment
on that in this message for simplicity's sake.

I hope I'm not frustrating people on this list, I'm not much of a C =
coder
but I'd like to see this work.

don't know about PCM-Ming/JaMing but you can use
streamMp3 or the ActionScript Sound object to
embed/load sound files in ming 0.3a.
