Bonsoir, I've recently bought a Antec Veris Multimedia Station E-Z with a rm100 remote You can see it here : http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00076357.html lsusb gives : Bus 004 Device 002: ID 15c2:0042 SoundGraph Inc. dmesg : [ 6791.179149] usb 4-3: new low-speed USB device number 2 using ohci_hcd [ 6791.506587] input: iMON Panel, Knob and Mouse(15c2:0042) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:04.0/usb4/4-3/4-3:1.0/input/input7 [ 6791.565120] Registered IR keymap rc-imon-pad [ 6791.565401] input: iMON Remote (15c2:0042) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:04.0/usb4/4-3/4-3:1.0/rc/rc1/input8 [ 6791.565618] rc1: iMON Remote (15c2:0042) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:04.0/usb4/4-3/4-3:1.0/rc/rc1 [ 6791.572128] imon 4-3:1.0: iMON device (15c2:0042, intf0) on usb<4:2> initialized [ 6791.572183] imon 4-3:1.1: iMON device (15c2:0042, intf1) on usb<4:2> initialized [ 6791.572257] usbcore: registered new interface driver imon lsmod | grep ir gives : ir_lirc_codec 12859 0 lirc_dev 19204 1 ir_lirc_codec ir_mce_kbd_decoder 12777 0 ir_sony_decoder 12510 0 ir_jvc_decoder 12507 0 ir_rc6_decoder 12507 0 ir_rc5_decoder 12507 0 ir_nec_decoder 12507 0 rc_core 26412 13 rc_imon_pad,imon,rc_terratec_slim_2,ir_lirc_codec,ir_mce_kbd_decoder,ir_sony_decoder,ir_jvc_decoder,ir_rc6_decoder,dvb_usb_af9015,dvb_usb,ir_rc5_decoder,ir_nec_decoder lsmod | grep imon gives : rc_imon_pad 12505 0 imon 32839 0 rc_core 26412 13 rc_imon_pad,imon,rc_terratec_slim_2,ir_lirc_codec,ir_mce_kbd_decoder,ir_sony_decoder,ir_jvc_decoder,ir_rc6_decoder,dvb_usb_af9015,dvb_usb,ir_rc5_decoder,ir_nec_decoder ps aux | grep lir gives : root 1528 0.0 0.0 32908 684 ? Ss 21:19 0:00 /usr/sbin/lircd --output=/var/run/lirc/lircd --device=/dev/lirc0 Ok, I run an ubuntu precise but with xfce ; anyway on another computer (an acer laptop) with a native precise ubuntu, results are the same ones. uname -a says : Linux ordi-moebius 3.2.0-35-lowlatency #34-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 18 18:12:15 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Generic kernel gives same results anyway... My keyboard is a french one (well nothing special, I'm french ;) ) when typing dpkg-reconfigure lirc, I've tried several possibilities for remote control configuration : 1/ Soundgraph iMON Antec Veris I use rhythmbox with the integrated lirc plugin Just few keys work : enter key => play current song ; when pressing again, song is played again from beginning keys up and down change selected song in good direction mute key lead to pop up a xfce (gnome?) notification on the top right corner (a crossed loudspeaker) but without any effect. SO I've also try to extract only the rm100 code and put it in a file named rm100.conf that I include in lircd.conf but I obtain the same result lircd.conf : #Configuration for the Soundgraph iMON Antec Veris remote: include "/etc/lirc/rm100.conf" rm100.conf : begin remote name Antec_Veris_RM100 bits 64 eps 30 aeps 100 one 0 0 zero 0 0 gap 139998 ignore_mask 0x0000000000000301 min_repeat 1 toggle_bit 0 begin codes KEY_EXIT 0x288195b700000101 # AppExit KEY_POWER 0x289115b700000101 # Power KEY_BACKSPACE 0x0200002a00000000 # Backspace KEY_UP 0x2aa515b700000101 # Pad Up RightMenu 0x0200006500000000 # Right Menu KEY_LEFT 0x29a515b700000101 # Pad Left KEY_ENTER 0x0200002800000000 # ENTER KEY_RIGHT 0x2ba515b700000101 # Pad Right KEY_VOLUMEUP 0x28a395b700000101 # VOL + KEY_DOWN 0x289515b700000101 # Pad Down KEY_CHANNELUP 0x289395b700000101 # CH + KEY_VOLUMEDOWN 0x28a595b700000101 # VOL - KEY_MUTE 0x2b9595b700000101 # Mute KEY_CHANNELDOWN 0x288795b700000101 # CH - KEY_REWIND 0x298315b700000101 # Rewind KEY_PLAY 0x2a8315b700000101 # Play KEY_FASTFORWARD 0x2b8315b700000101 # Fast Forward Go 0x2ab195b700000101 # Go end codes end remote 2/ linux input layer with several possible devices : /dev/input/by-id/usb-15c2_0042-event-if00 Nothing work except play/pause key but just for playing, mute key acts as said before /dev/input/by-id/usb-15c2_0042-event-mouse and /dev/input/by-id/usb-15c2_0042-mouse Same result than with Soundgraph iMON Antec Veris except key play/pause don't make anything Last thing, everytime I'm trying to reconfigure lirc, dmesg says : imon 4-3:1.0: Unsupported IR protocol specified, overriding to iMON IR protocol Well I'm a little lost ; it seems very hard to make these remotes working So if someone could bring some help, it would be very nice. cordialement, |

Is it somehow possible to convert this raw data: http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/mitsubishi/HD1000 to "real codes"? Or can someone out there find the codes for HD1000 remote??? Can't record the codes, because on my mac with ubuntu 11.04 I do not get running the recording... (does someone have experience and can give a step by step solution? tried it with several tutorials, but all did not work) Cheers, Michael |

I'm posting this for the sake of future web searches, as there doesn't seem to be much information available. I recently had some trouble recording the IR signal from a remote control that uses the XMP-2 protocol.[1] I never did successfully record using lirc's irrecord; in raw mode it would at least generate a config file, but using irsend with that config file had no effect whatsoever on the set-top box receiving the signals. What did work was to record using RedRat's "IR signal database utility"[2]. It is free-as-in-beer, and only runs on Windows. I don't know if it supports any IR-receiver hardware other than RedRat's own hardware. You have to tick "XMP" in the settings before you start recording; and when you've finished you can export to lirc format. The resulting config file works with lirc on Linux (I'm using lirc 0.9.0). [1] http://www.uei.com/html.php?page_id=89 [2] http://www.redrat.co.uk/software/SignalDBUtil/index.html Cheers, Dave. |

Hello everybody, I have question about LIRC config to set up hex codes for my Harmony One remote set as iMon Pad remote, which I had before. I have my HTPC with "IR Einschalter Rev 5" from www.atric.de as serial IR receiver. First I used iMon Pad remote with USB receiver to control Mediaportal, but missed on-off function. With Atric receiver it works, but I was unable to setup WinLIRC and then also LIRC to learn hex codes. In WinLIRC I tried several config files for iMon Pad remote, also I tried to record own config with IRRecord. But I only achieved to have setup for raw codes. When trying to record codes, I always got "Something went wrong ..." message. Then I read in some forum, that LIRC IRRecord is better, so I installed Ubuntu 12.04 under Oracle Virtualbox and after few hours I was able to use mode2 and then IRRecord to record commands. But also only in raw mode. I tried also to use -a parameter for IRRecord, but with no success. The problem is, that with raw codes, it sometimes work sometimes not, I have to push button twice etc. Any idea, what can be wrong? Maybe I should use different protocol in Harmony setup, but what? Any recomendations? I tried MCE Remote profile, but result was the same. Thanks a lot! I ordered a replacement remote that should come in early next week. I think I can safely rule out any software issues at this point. |

Hi! Here comes a LIRC patch with improved handling of the wheel/knob (turn and press actions). The patch removes knob bouncing effects, and has removed some subtle bugs when using wheel/knob and IR control in parallel. It is available at http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=12120799&postcount=99 (lirc-0.9.0.patch.gz). The change has been in use for quite a while now, and works fine. Please consider this e-mail as submission to include this patch into LIRC. I'd be glad if it were useful to some LIRC users. Regards, Wolfgang -------- Original-Nachricht -------- Betreff: Extension of mplay-driver for MonCaso 312/320 Datum: Tue, 10 Jul 2012 02:05:24 +0200 Von: wmh <bc...@we...> An: lir...@li... Hi! This is a re-send of my e-mail from 2011-10-24, as there has been no reaction so far... Here comes a modification for the mplay-driver. It extends the LIRC driver in order to support the case "MonCaso 312/320" with a built-in IR. Now, the wheel is supported, and the record button is recognised reliably. I have added a /patch/ containing the following /changes/: * The IR receiver reports the wheel position by a two bit value, which is given in Gray code. The code is transported via two status lines of the serial port. * The driver establishes a thread polling the status lines, thus recognising wheel turn actions. * The thread reads from the serial port the remote control button presses, as it used to be the case before. * Wheel turn actions produce button presses for counterwise (0x81) and counter clockwise (0x80) turns. * Detected button presses are piped into the LIRC framework. The driver serves the write end, the LIRC framework has the read end. * Once a wheel action has been found, the driver temporarily reduces the polling period in order to get all wheel actions. * The driver uses an option "nowheel" appended to the driver parameter as in --driver="/dev/ttyUSB0,nowheel" or DRIVER="/dev/ttyUSB0,nowheel". This option switches off the creation of a polling thread. Instead, remote button presses are directly read from the serial port, as it used to be the case before. * In order to avoid copy and paste, there is an init function for both mplay and mplay2. The algorithms are explained in more detail in the source code comments. I would be happy if the patch helps. Perhaps it is even a candidate to be included into the LIRC package. In addition, I added the forum post http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11385428&postcount=60, where you could reply to if you like to. Unfortunately, only Ubuntu 11.04 is available for me, which is also the base for the patch. Regards, Wolfgang |

Is there a way to use audio-alsa with a soundcard that only supports S32LE not U8? I see that the code is written exclusively for U8 but neither of my two soundcards support this. I can operate in 32000/stereo/S32LE at the lowest. I was thinking that perhaps snd-aloop could handle this along with some piping of arecord and aplay but I can't seem to get that to properly loop-back (arecord alone seems to work, as does using audacity to capture my 'IR module' output). Any thoughts or tips? Any known way to use arecord and/or some other tools to pipe into irrecord / lircd as U8? (A slight delay would be acceptable) aside: Radio Shack now has a newer version of their 276-640, found it listed as "2760640" on the front of the package [same barcode], has more range, more sensitivity, and wider supply voltage range (2.5-5.5 instead of 2.7-5.something). Thanks! -- tonsofpcs (idling in the #lirc IRC channel on freenode too) |

Hi, I had a deeper look into the code and finally found a solution to get the front panel buttons to work. I append the patch for imon.c against kernel 3.6.8. But it is ugly, that the front panel buttons are hardcoded. It is not possible to remap keys via ir-keytable. Is there a special reason for this hardcoded values? If I understand the code correctly, exchanging the call to imon_panel_key_lookup by rc_g_keycode_from_table should do the job to specify the front panel keys also in the ir-keytable. Hi,
with the old lircd 0.8.x the front panel buttons of the thermaltake
dh102 case worked without problems. Due to kernel update to 3.6.8 I want
to switch to from the lirc_imon to the imon kernel module. With the imon
module the remote control, the touch screen and the volume knob of the
front panel is working but not all other buttons of the front panel. The
iMon is detected as:
input: iMON Panel, Knob and Mouse(15c2:0034) as
/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/usb2/2-5/2-5:1.0/input/input9
Registered IR keymap rc-imon-pad
input: iMON Remote (15c2:0034) as
/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/usb2/2-5/2-5:1.0/rc/rc2/input10
rc2: iMON Remote (15c2:0034) as
/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/usb2/2-5/2-5:1.0/rc/rc2
imon 2-5:1.0: could not get a minor number for display
imon 2-5:1.0: iMON device (15c2:0034, intf0) on usb<2:3> initialized
input: iMON USB Touchscreen (15c2:0034) as
/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/usb2/2-5/2-5:1.0/input/input11
imon 2-5:1.1: iMON device (15c2:0034, intf1) on usb<2:3> initialized
When I press for example the ENTER button of the front panel, this
button is detected:
intf1 decoded packet: 00 00 00 16 00 00 14 ee
So I added this to the imon_panel_key_table in imon.c . Now this key if
forwarded to the input device, but a single press on the ENTER button
creates now a lot of events:
vdr:/usr/src/linux # evtest /dev/input/by-id/usb-15c2_0034-event-mouse
Input driver version is 1.0.1
Input device ID: bus 0x3 vendor 0x15c2 product 0x34 version 0x14
Input device name: "iMON Panel, Knob and Mouse(15c2:0034)"

How can I fix this problem and get the front panels to work?

Hello. I have compiled 0.8.7 with the mceusb/mceusb2 modules on Debian Squeeze. My IR receiver is detected when I plug it in, and the mceusb module gets loaded: /var/log/messages shows Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.024106] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5 Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.185352] usb 2-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0471, idProduct=0815 Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.185365] usb 2-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.185375] usb 2-1: Product: eHome Infrared Transceiver Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.185383] usb 2-1: Manufacturer: Philips Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.185390] usb 2-1: SerialNumber: PH00Xapa Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.185694] usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.215258] lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, major 61 Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.223196] Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.223204] lirc_mceusb2: Philips eHome USB IR Transceiver and Microsoft MCE 2005 Remote Control driver for LIRC $Revision: 1.44 $ Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.223214] lirc_mceusb2: Daniel Melander <li...@ra...>, Martin Blatter <mar...@ya...> Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.336112] usb 2-1: reset full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5 Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.487360] lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: sample_rate: 0 Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.492353] lirc_mceusb2[5]: Philips eHome Infrared Transceiver on usb2:5 Dec 3 18:53:22 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3270.492488] usbcore: registered new interface driver lirc_mceusb2 Dec 3 18:54:16 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3323.677567] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 190 Dec 3 18:56:16 hp-compaq kernel: [ 3443.678760] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 2(2) BSS returned, data->length = 424 After that, I start lircd: # /etc/init.d/lirc start Loading LIRC modules:.
