Intrexx

Pros: - A versatile user/dev is able to create application modules and workflows (e.g. for mail or Share notifications).
- Good API documentation.
- Many possibilities to connect to other systems (MFiles, AD, Office365, you name it).
- Java-based (Groovy, Velocity, Java).
- Cross-platform (I'm developing on MacOS).
- Good and fast helpdesk.

Cons: - It's hard to find ready-to-use solutions by myself (AppStore).

Overall: I work daily with Intrexx and in my opinion it is a very comfy tool to create applications for both our company and our customers.
Sometimes there are strange errors which appear on very rare cases, but when they do their helpdesk is ready and able to help fast.

Pros: - Supports a broad range of databases (e.g. commercial as well as non-commercial ones)
- Supports all browsers
- Inhouse Support Center

Cons: - Backend is quite complex
- No freeware edition available (e.g. Sharepoint Foundation)

Overall: Regarding the projects we have realized so far, we can say that Intrexx offers a broad range of business adapters, APIs and drivers that put us in the position to access almost every type of datasource (read & write). In our case, we have connected the following tools to our Intrexx Portal: ERP, CRM, Support Portal as well as timekeeping :)

Pros: Good finished applications and the possibility of customization and easy development of your own apps.

Cons: Unfortunately only a few but very good finished solutions.

Overall: Good finished applications that can be adapted to your own needs. In addition, third-party systems can simply be connected.

Pros: Easy installation with just one control tool. Clear and easy to use interface. Many interfaces to other systems and databases. Fast implementation of web applications with integrated workflows. Lots of customization and expandability options. Great user experience.
Short training period for application developers.

Cons: Styling responsive designs is a bit time-consuming and the documentation could sometimes be a bit more detailed.

Overall: I have been developing applications with Intrexx for 20 years and be still enthusiastic about the possibilities to create valuable applications quickly and inexpensively, which make everyday work easier for the user. Definitely a good platform to drive the digitalization process in the company forward to the next level.

- Great graphic interface in the portal manager
- Extremely helpful structure that enables easy development, management and deployment of complex and high-availability systems
- No extensive coding skills needed in order to create great applications
- Vivid online community that helps each other out on open questions
- Quick and helpful support centre

Cons: - It is important to keep in mind that it is a low code and not a ‘no code’ platform. Skills in Groovy/Java, Velocity, Javascript and some CSS will help you to use the full capacity of Intrexx.

Overall: In my opinion low code platforms are the future of software development in a market where software developers are a scarce resource. From my research I would say that Intrexx is a brilliant low code platform that pays off really well with the operation of multiple portals or applications.

Pros: Since it is a low code framework creating a web application with Intrexx is quite intuitive. Just drag and drop the item where you want it to be and you are good to go. This applies when creating the user-interface but also with processes. The learning curve is pretty steep ergo after just a few days of practice creating a simple application is possible.

Cons: The only thing that really bothered me was the lack of documentation. Within the little amount of time I worked with Intrexx, there were multiple situations where the documentation provided on the official website was either too imprecise or too little.

Overall: Working with Intrexx was quite some fun due to the short time you can learn the necessary things. Despite the problems with the documentation I would still choose to work with it again.

- Create applications quickly and easily
- Fast development through low code
- Simple assignment of rights for groups and users

Cons: - Sometimes lack of documentation
- Styling of applications

Overall: All in all a very good software for digitisation for companies. Working with Intrexx is fast, simple and uncomplicated. It is definitely worth a try.

Pros: Intrexx is the most flexible low code environment I know. I have been working with it every day for almost 4 years now, and I am always amazed at the variety of possibilities Intrexx offers. This means all available functions.
For example, there are no limits to the application design. Prefabricated elements can be used with which simple applications can be implemented amazingly quickly. Nevertheless, everything can be adapted as desired by the customer. Be it a design adaptation in CSS or a special element. There are really no limits to creativity.

Cons: As already mentioned, Intrexx has many functions and possibilities. As a developer, you probably never know all of the functions in the smallest detail. The help or the documentation of the available functions could be somewhat better from the manufacturer's side.

Overall: It is really fun to develop applications in Intrexx. It is also always a joy to see customers amazed at how quickly functions can be implemented. I can only recommend it to anyone who is looking for a versatile low code environment.

Pros: Intrexx as Saas und Paas offers speed and agility in the development of web applications. External classes can be integrated through the Java openness of the platform and individual development is possible. The supplied Groovy APIs and JS APIs are powerful and deliver high performance. The three integrated programming languages ​​Groovy, JavaScript and Velocity work hand in hand thanks to these APIs and enable the use of all common development methods. The process modeling section enables processes and workflows to be mapped and automated quickly. Various layouts can also be created and implemented. Standards such as Windows authentication, multi-tenancy and a wide range of interfaces such as REST, ODBC, common Microsoft products and much more are supported and function reliably.

Cons: Some problems can only be solved with programming skills.

Overall: Intrexx is the right tool for digitalisation and automation. Companies can develop tools without high effort.

Pros: - It's easy with Intrexx to implement applications for gathering information within the company that are directly processed and tasks are distributed to people who have to do the job.
- in comparison to other tools the realization is quick and therefore cost effective.
- an integrated app store allows to implement applications like social networks etc. with just a few clicks.
- we use Intrexx as our intranet solution. We use basic intranet features but are connected to lot of other internal systems. e.g. the identity management. This basic intranet is enriched with Intrexx apps like Share (Social Network) but also with several custom applications like event management, educational management tools etc. Realization of this in comparison to other platforms was quite easy too.

Cons: - html code produced sometimes seems not to allow the flexibility needed for cutting edge ux. Although everything is possible here this is often extra effort. I think this is as the application is structured in a way its done by the Intrexx framework which you have limited control over (core). within this, flexibility is limited.

Overall: Overall this is a decent solution for your internal digitalization. Not only intranet but also for the digitalization of things that was before always done on paper or in bad excels in your organization. Overall a good fit as realization of new things is really quick and therefore cheap. It's possible to have internal application managers who can create applications without developers - we use an external agency for that, but it's also possible to do this in-house with no coding skills (of course technical understanding is necessary).

Pros: Intrexx supports my clients whenever functionality is missing in their standard application landscape.
Development is much cheaper and fast (time to market) compared to individual software development.
Intrexx makes business processes more efficient.
Single sign on works well and we would miss it in many integrations.
Supports us in agile project management and is shorten the lead-time to the customer.

Cons: Standard Apps developed by UP are not fulfilling customer needs, individual App development is in some cases faster and more efficient.
It would be great, if UP improves App quality and functionality.
License Pricing model is not the most flexible one!

Overall: Most customers visualize existing content and processes distributed so far in various applications and databases within their intranet, to make it easy accessible for the many co-workers.

Pros: The best thing about Intrexx is its simplicity. On the one hand, you can already achieve an extremely large amount without coding, and on the other hand, with additional coding (Javascript, Velocity & Groovy), all conceivable business cases can be realized. It is suitable for everyone!

Cons: So in very few places Intrexx could be even more intuitive, but that is whining on a high level.

Overall: Really a great product, which deserves much more attention. I can only recommend Intrexx to you, it is worth it for your business!

Pros: You obtain simple and functional tools designed to improve the workflow of your business with close to no coding experience. If you choose to have knowledgeable developers work with Intrexx, you will have better apps in a shorter amount of time than if you chose to build the respective tool from zero, code-only.

Cons: It's low-code, not zero-code, so if the Intrexx developer does not have coding experience it might be a challenge to design a truly powerful app and reach the high potential that Intrexx has. Also, there are some tool limitations which you can overcome by getting to know it really well.

Overall: Overall, I think the world is a better place with the help of Intrexx. They only need to make it more easy to use for developers.

Pros: Very fast and easy way to create business applications, full featured interfaces to implement other systems, even state-of-the-art systems like Azure AD, GraphAPI, AWS, Google and many more. The front-end is very nice looking and available for nearly all platforms.

Cons: Still no way to use offline functions ootb, but gives all interfaces to develop such solutions.

Overall: Together with Intrexx we were able to set up our own business-apps based on our own needs. This helps us to set the focus on our core-business.

Pros: From user's point of view, it's easy to use system with intuitive interface and with high practical benefits. Properly written system can be fully managed and supported by Intrexx developers.
From developer's point of view, it is a great idea of being able to develop complex web systems many times faster than by a regular development. It's a low code platform with some built in features which make developers live much easier.

Cons: As a user I'd say low desing and styling options.
As a developer, the product has some annoying bugs and misses some interesting features, which both make the low code platform not so low code with increased need of dummy scripting to achieve the required behavior. The product is in my opinion either overpriced, or users are being charged for every single Intrexx request.

Overall: As a user, if I can pay for the product I'm very happy about the functionalities, features and intuitive design, but as a developer I have to say, that the product has many tiny drawbacks which make the development much more complex, irritating and even few times longer than it could potentially be. But I believe that United Planet is doing their best to improve the product quality for the best experience possible.

Pros: Easy to use, very good interface system, highly individual at low costs. digital process optimization with low effort

Cons: Disregarding that Intrexx features website with all that limitations websites have, there are no big cons. One my want to have more control on how Intrexx portals may interact.

Overall: Inexpensive, fast pace tool for digital workplaces, intranet sites and process optimization.
