Pros: With the portal solution from Intrexx, we have developed an internal company portal. It simplifies internal communication and digital collaboration enormously. Day-to-day work is, for example, considerably simplified by the compressed quick access and the digital document filing, which manages general documents centrally. The mapping of digital processes makes work more efficient and saves time. Now we can also use the vacation planner clearly from the portal by converting it into a digital application.
I am a user and an administrator of the portal and therefore I can judge the intuitive and smart usability of the portal from both sides!

Cons: It would be nice to have more options in terms of the design of the front end.

Overall: A powerful development platform that enables rapid digitization within a company through low-code...

Pros: The possibility to map many use cases. It is also possible to implement complex workflows very quickly.

Cons: It's not that well known. But it is on the way to change it.

Overall: With the many possibilities there are always new ideas about what can be done. Hardly any other software can do that.

Pros: Intrexx offers a modular system with which one can quickly and individually develop prototypes for one's customers' digitisation projects without having any real programming knowledge.
However, if the applications are to become more complex, the necessary logics can be programmed with the help of JavaScript, Velocity and Groovy.
Although Intrexx is very complex with its possibilities, the menu navigation of the portal manager is very clear and after a short training period, one can find one's way around relatively quickly.
Should one still have questions about the use of Intrexx, these can be found in the documentation of the online help.

Cons: I would like to see better documentation/online help for scripting in the future. Some kind of best practices for the most common errors that occur in the community (e.g. how best to deal with the conversion of time stamps in Intrexx, etc.) in order to avoid unnecessary time spending on troubleshooting.

Overall: Sometimes it is difficult for the customer to imagine how the later application with the necessary processes etc. should look like. With Intrexx, it is possible to quickly present results to the customer in order to create the basis for further ideas, so that the customer receives an individual application that is tailored to their needs.

Pros: Intrexx runs on Windows or Linux servers or even in the cloud.
It is possible to create one portal for multiple clients and customize their look and feel and separate their data in an easy way.
My favorite is the ability to create a responsive layout for the portal and the masks with only little CSS skills.
Another pro is the fast and helpful support of United Planet. Additionally there is a very good online help available meanwhile.

Cons: There is not much negative to tell about. Sometimes the mail service is hanging up when the connection to the smtp server is broken. Then you have to restart the whole portal to get it working again.
Also the debugging in the web interface can be very laborious sometimes.

Overall: It's very easy to web-enable simple processes or forms without or with little programming effort. The more complex your processes are, the more you have to program yourself. Also it is very simple to integrate Intrexx into your existing environment, e.g. with linking Active Directory for your company users.

Pros: After a short training period, powerful company portals with a wide range of functions can be created. It does not matter whether internally between different locations (intranet) or externally with partners, customers and suppliers (extranet).
The advantage over "ready-made" solutions is the individual adaptability to the company and the processes there. The company does not have to adapt to the software, but the software adapts to the company!
Thanks to the programmability with Velocity and Groovy (Java), even the most complex scenarios can be created. For many applications, however, the existing low-code tool will be sufficient for the user.
Qualified support is guaranteed at all times by the numerous partners and the manufacturer himself. Numerous out-of-the-box applications and ready-made solutions are ready to go with just a few clicks.
Since the software is constantly being improved and so numerous features are being added, it is also future-proof. With the existing Intrexx Academy, users can acquire the necessary knowledge with little effort.

Cons: The creation of complex company portals requires a certain amount of planning and configuration, since the entire portal cannot be generated out-of-the-box. That is why other solutions can be implemented faster and more cost-effectively for simple portals. The documentation could be improved (examples).

Overall: Overall, Intrexx is a powerful tool which makes it fun to use. A competitive advantage can be achieved for companies through the high degree of customization.

Pros: Intrexx is an easy to learn development platform. You get fast results in really less time, even for me as a trainee.

Cons: There are no cons to mention, except for the pricing.

Overall: For me as a trainee it was very exciting how easy it is to get my first results with this platform. In just four weeks i learned to develop simple applications for productive use. Even the fact that Intrexx is platform independent makes so much fun.

Pros: Within a very short time, it is possible to create a customized application according to one's own requirements. The Intrexx Portal Manager takes over a large number of the development-related activities in the background, while the developer merely uses the development elements in the construction kit. In this way, a high development standard can be achieved very quickly, even without development know-how. But classical programming is also possible as a perfect supplement with already integrated interfaces, so that even for complex special cases a solution is always in sight.

Cons: A lot of individual layouting is necessary for the realization of a high-quality look and usability, the standard on-board tools offer only a low level of comfort here.

Pros: With Intrexx, its possible to build clean and fast platform architectures, individually developed for processes and applications. Be it a single application for mapping and digitizing a business process or a complete enterprise portal. With the "low-code" framework Intrexx, its easy to integrate external services such as SAP and create a hub for all data, documents, and processes in the company.
Workflows become more efficient and understandable, so that everyone in the company has more time for the essentials and saves on redundant tasks.

Cons: Without experience, complicated requirements can quickly lead to technical debt. If bad decisions were made at the beginning of a development, it is often difficult to eliminate them later and it is often faster to redo the whole application.

Pros: The flexible possibility to develop and type of business application. E.g. with the application builder and process designer and the further range of functions such as rights management, personalization, possibility for connection to third-party- systems.

Cons: The introduction requires a learning curve, especially when you have to work with code because the drag and drop standard is no longer sufficient.

Overall: Low-code development framework for the creation of business software applications that can be realised in several weeks to a view months. The connection to third-party systems is partly solved with the help of ready-made connectors. Processes can be triggered comfortably, e.g. the automatic sending of e-mails n the case of certain events or on basis of other rules, which leads to automation.

Pros: Fast and easy application development. It is possible to create very simple applications without programming knowledge, but also to have very complex and sophisticated applications created by software developers, for example.

Cons: There are still elements that require manual intervention, but should be standard in a current framework.

Overall: Intrexx is a platform that allows you to create and expand applications quickly and efficiently. Above all, the flexible development of applications, the connection and integration of external systems bring out the strengths of Intrexx.

Pros: Processes can be digitized and automated with little programming knowledge.

Many functions are offered via the Portal Manager, which can be placed in the development by drag & drop.

Monitoring of the system can also be achieved via the Portal Manager.

If the Intrexx board resources are not sufficient, JavaScript, Velocity, or Groovy can be used to help.

Cons: There is still too much manual work in some places as far as a good interface is concerned.

Overall: Overall, Intrexx is a platform for easy application creation. Through the use of programming languages, it becomes a powerful tool. In case of problems, there is a large community for error analysis and correction. I would use it again at any time.

Pros: - The learning curve is rather shallow. You can quickly achieve results for "real life" use cases.
- If the low code development features are not sufficient for your task, you can employ the Groovy programming language to implement (almost) anything.
- There is a possibility to automate background tasks and react to events with so-called "processes".
- Intrexx offers powerful integration features with third-party systems.
- Qualified and quite quick support.

Cons: - Debugging and testing can still be improved. Today, the process of debugging an Intrexx application is as follows: testing your application in the browser, checking the log files if an error occurs, fixing the error, testing the fix in the browser ... and so on.
- Reuse of parts of your applications in other/new solutions is limited.

Overall: Intrexx is an excellent product for efficiently implementing and deploying intranet and/or extranet solutions for your organization. Most, I was intrigued by how a neat-looking, fully functional web application can be implemented in very little time.

Pros: Intrexx is an easy-to-learn low-code development platform. In fact, it is more an IDE for creating applications, processes, and the necessary layouts/designs. Through this all-in-one solution, you no longer have to struggle with various frameworks for the different areas, you only have to "learn" Intrexx. In addition to the low-code development feature, creating my application or my process via drag & drop, I can fall back on higher programming languages such as Velocity or Groovy. With this, almost all of the possibilities of "normal" application development are available to me.
In my opinion, Intrexx is really good in bringing together data from various systems (via direct database access, via web service, or via a special connector) and visualizing it bundled as tables and charts.

Cons: There are a lot of expert attributes that greatly simplify your life, but somtimes they are not well documented.
In addition, it is difficult to automatically test or debug Intrexx applications. For this, you have to fall back on the possibilities of the browser manufacturers. However, this is not necessarily a problem of Intrexx per se, but a general problem with web applications.

Overall: Intrexx is a great tool to digitalize your business fast and easy. I use Intrexx every day as a user and as a developer. You have great ready to use applications for social collaboration, document management or quality management. If there is no application for your use case, you can easily create your own.

Pros: Intrexx is less a non-code developer tool than a low-code tool. In order to be able to exploit the full potential of it you need basic knowledge in coding and database structure. It works great for developers with few experience in programming or coding. The Intrexx- training program familiarizes you with the program. Due to the framework, you are able to create applications after a relatively short learning period.

Cons: In order to be able to unlock the full potential and to circumvent certain limitations, a certain level of Java/Groovy is required.

Overall: I think Intrexx is a powerful tool especially for developers with few experience in programming and coding.

Pros: - good for beginners, which doesn't have much knowledge about Web development.
- easy to use.
- easy installation.

Cons: - very expensive, even for licenses with few users.
- a ton of bugs in advanced stuff and settings.

Overall: It's very practical and also educational to some extent if you use it daily at work or are still at the beginning of a career as a web developer. For companies it is practical to quickly build their own intranet, but you should not expect too many functions.

Pros: - Has a fast and easy Setup even for starters
- It is easy to build responsive web applications, intranets and many more
- It's easy to integrate and use external databases
- Has a very user friendly interface and a good usability

Cons: - Licensing model can be Improved
- Debugging options could be improved

Overall: Overall it's a good, fast and easy way to build application even without many programming skills and with a little experience you are able to extend the Intrexx standard functions even more using your own code.

- It takes literally days to learn and to start creating applications

Cons: - Limitation in some solutions

- The editor looks and feels a bit old

Thanks to the broad range of business adapters, APIs and drivers we realized apps for nearly every business application.

Pros: No great specialist knowledge is required for Intrexx at the beginning. Certain business processes can be recreated quickly and without code. In addition, a large number of third-party systems (databases) can be integrated, which makes this tool flexible. The usability is simple and cover more and more cases with each new version. The support always tries to help as soon as possible, should a problem arise. Intrexx continues to develop every year. The customer / partner's suggestions for improvement are taken seriously and possibly implemented.

Cons: The portal manager on a MacOS system does not run as stable as it does on Windows.

Overall: Intrexx accompanies you every day, whether it's tasks, projects or time recording. A lot is possible. Newbies quickly learn to create their own applications for their purposes. The extensive integration makes Intrexx a very flexible tool.

Pros: I like that you can work with Intrexx very well even if you don't know the program because it is relatively easy to use and understand. I had no idea about Intrexx at the beginning but was able to work with it after a few hours. There is also a lot of good help offered if you don't understand something or something doesn't work.

Cons: There are some small bugs depending on the version. Each version has its own bugs and unfortunately there is no Intrexx version that is perfect yet.

Overall: My experience so far has been mostly positive but I have had a few problems as well. However, these could mostly be solved.

Pros: Easy to use and get into.

Cons: Sometimes a bit restricting.

Overall: Overall a pleasant experience until now, had few problems with the program.
