insight3d

insight3d let’s you create 3D models from photos. You give it a series of photos of a real scene, it automatically matches them and then calculates positions in space from which each photo has been taken along with a cool 3D pointcloud of the scene.

Outstanding project. I am looking forward to using this for documenting archaeological sites.

Hi all... I have seen the project running through the Windows executable only, the functionality is great indeed. I have searched much on the internet, and this project was the only complete open source that performs stereo 3D reconstruction from multiple images. However, I couldn't compile the source code so far! I'm using Mac OS (Leopard 10.5.8), I'm trying to compile the project source code using xCode, and I'm still struggling with that since a while... Anyone knows if this project can compile normally on Mac? Please give any ideas that you think may help.
