certz is intended to implement a standard interface for creating and maintaining one or multiple Root and Intermediate Certification Authorities (ie, CA and ICA).

Each CA/ICA can accept certificate signing requests (CSR)
Each CA/ICA can generate signed certificates from a CSR
Zip files are supported for distribution of certificates
Basic certificate revocation list (CRL) support is included
CA/ICA/Cert info is in name files for simplicity and reliability
Utilities are included for viewing CA/ICA/CSR/CRL/Cert details
Extensive error checking and reporting
Simple and extensible online help system
Easily expandable to support new commands
