In case you haven't heard, there has been an official stand alone Hack and Slash Action RPG release (a tech. test.) We are hopeing this title will make it to the TuxBox, but we still have a long ways to go on it. Be sure to check out what we have in this release if you want to see how far along we are. (It can be downloaded from http://www.planetquake.com/gg/hackandslash.html
and the version # is 2002.03.08 (same as the release date), and we've only tested the windows exe version, all though there is a "zipped version for all opperating systems." Sorry if this is not news to you. Thanks!
Because of the recent problems with Blizzard and BNETD (http://www.bnetd.org/), we have mirrored the latest development and stable versions of BNETD. BNETD is a Battle.net server emulator that runs on Linux. While this is not TuxBox related, it is Linux gaming related and we could not let a valuable piece of software like this vanish without a trace. Please copy the bnetd files to your web site and help us stop Blizzard's attempts to use the DMCA against their own customers. More info here: http://slashdot.org/articles/02/02/21/0136256.shtml?tid=127

For those developers interested, idSoftware just released the Quake 2 source code under the GPL. Anyone who wants to develop their games based upon this source code is welcome to do so. Of course, the same as Quake 1, the rendering engine source code is GPL'd, not the data files that are distributed with Quake 2.
We're happy to announce that two developers from Galbraith Games have joined the team. One of their key responsibilites will be developing a RPG called Hack and Slash. We can't wait to see what this talented team can do. Please visit their web site, http://www.planetquake.com/gg
