This release features the removal of both the "INet-Msg" and "MSRBL" databases. All of the new "securiteinfo" and "sanesecurity" databases are now included in this release.
This release offers an improved method for adding or removing databases. My goal is to have the "6.0" version handle the addition or removal of databases even easier.
Optimized several routines to improve performance.
Due to the way certain definition files were constructed, it required that
a new test file be used to test the integrity of the newly downloaded
definition files.
Started implementation of "color" codes to display certain output in
color(s). Only partly functional.
Added BSD License.
Added "winnow_extended_malware.hdb and winnow_extended_malware_links.hdb
to the "winnow" definition files.... read more
This is a minor update. Two new databases were added to the script (see change log). Some code was slightly modified.
Corrected a minor problem with the default path setting for the scamp config file.
1) Added the following new signature files and associated 'sig' files:
a) INetMsg-SpamDomains-2m.ndb
b) winnow.complex.patterns.ldb
c) spearl.ndb
d) scamnailer.ndb
This release fixes a small problem with some 'sis' files not being properly deleted.
The latest version of "scamp" is now available. It features support for more definition files supplied by Sanesecurity.
* Added support for editing 'config' files in place. (See README) for details.
* The config directory has been changed. All config files are now keep in a dedicated directory; usually /etc/scamp or /usr/local/etc/scamp.
* A bug concerning the creation of the ~/gnupg directory was squashed.
* The script has been tested under Bash-4 on FreeBSD.
* Since this is a 'bash' script, you will need Bash-3.x or better to run it. It may work under Bash-2.x; however, it has not been tested. ... read more
