O.K.I. To Deliver Objective-C versions of OSIDs for Mac OS X Developers
(Cambridge, MA) - The Open Knowledge Initiative (O.K.I.(t.m.)) today announced its plan to release the Objective-C versions of its Open Service Interface Definitions (OSIDs). OSIDs are open software specifications enabling applications to integrate with diverse service environments using a plug-in model that reduces development and custom integration costs. O.K.I. has made this ease of integration possible for a number of critical service areas including Authentication, Authorization and Repository services, providing support for emerging application functionality like federated searching across heterogeneous repository collections of digital assets. Mac OS X developers will welcome the Objective-C versions for use in their Cocoa applications. ... read more

The Open Knowledge Initiative Delivers XOSID Specification
(Cambridge, MA) - The Open Knowledge Initiative (O.K.I.(tm)) announced today the release of its XOSID representations of the Open Service Interface Definitions (OSIDs). XOSIDs provide a language neutral XML representation of the OSIDs, which until now were only available as Java APIs.
"We are very excited about this release," said Jeff Merriman, Project Director of O.K.I. "It has always been our intention for the OSIDs to be applied to various technologies, and not be tied to any one particular programming language. The XOSID representation of the specifications finally allows us to do this."... read more
