1 I knew that. I'm a software engineer but new to Linux/Indi.
2 Nothing
3 Thanks for telling me where to look, I found indi_v4l_philips :-)
I shall inform the people who gave me the wrong driver name.
But indi should not have looped so there is still something to fix.
Thanks again.
Peter

It means it cannot fine indi_v4l2_ccd driver on your system. run:
$ which indi_v4l2_ccd
What do you get? Are you sure INDI binaries are installed to /usr/bin ?

The following command causes a loop:
indiserver -v indi_v4l2_ccd
it spins too fast to read but before I become cross-eyed I can pick out "no such driver"
An awful lot of folk in UK have the Philips SPC900 webcam which requires this to work.

#53indi_v4l2_ccd is the correct driver name, you just don't have it installed. Please make sure INDI library is properly installed on your system.
indi_v4l2_ccd is installed, but having a Philips SPC900 I thought the _philips was the one to use. When I get a moment I'll experiment with both.
Regards
Peter
