It's a long story; basically, GTGI needed a driver for Linux that was more stable than what was represented here, and so we went with a port of the OpenBSD hifn(4) driver instead. Since then, we've received several requests for Windows 2000 support, and this driver *could* fill that need, but it needs quite a bit of work.
As for the state of the code at the moment, it's somewhere between alpha and beta quality for the NT build, just beyond beta for the Unix builds (but in sore need of updating; this was last touched when Linux 2.0 and FreeBSD.3x were current). ... read more
The Hi/fn 7751 driver project is now open, and CVS and source packages are available.
We're looking for help on this project; anyone with good knowledge of Linux, NT and/or FreeBSD kernel internals is welcome. Experience with the 7751 or another crypto processor is a plus, as is experience with networking and TCP/IP stacks. Contact me if interested.
