wxWidgets is a C++ library that lets developers create applications for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and other platforms with a single code base. It has popular language bindings for Python, Perl, Ruby and many other languages, and unlike other cross-platform toolkits, wxWidgets gives applications a truly native look and feel because it uses the platform's native API rather than emulating the GUI. It's also extensive, free, open-source and mature.

wxLua is a Lua scripting language wrapper for the wxWidgets cross-platform GUI library. It consists of executables for editing, running, and debugging wxLua scripts, a library for extending C++ programs with a fast, small, fully embeddable scripting language, and a variety of sample programs. With wxLua you can quickly write full-featured programs with graphics, networking, printing, etc. for MS Windows, Linux, and OSX.

The MpyEditor is an Editor for writing, compiling and downloading Microcontroller programs onto the Launchpad MSP430 Development board. The microcontroller program is written using mpy which is a subset of Python. This is then translated into C and compiled into machine code and finaly downloaded onto the Launchpad board. The MpyEditor program has been created using Python, wxPython, Editra, mspgcc, mspdebug. The main purpose behind the MpyEditor is to provide a very simple environment for novice users to program microcontollers with the minimum of fuss. The mpy language provides hardware configuration functions that make it easy to use the IOs ADC and Timer blocks of the microcontroller.

wxShapeFramework (wxSF) is a software library/framework based on wxWidgets which allows easy development of software applications manipulating with graphical objects (shapes) like various CASE tools, technological processes modeling tools, etc.

The wxHaskell project implements a binding from the portable GUI library wxWidgets to Haskell.
