Crystalsim is a simple freeware program with a neat graphical user interface for X-ray diffraction (XRD) data analysis . It can simulates all possible {hkl} planes data for the selected crystal. Crystallographic Information File (.cif) can also be used. Analyze both powder diffraction and single crystal data . Indexed at International Union of Crystallography (IUCR). Crystalline lattice parameters such as ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘c’ as well as interfacial angles such as alpha, beta, gamma can also be entered manually. Processed data can be saved as .csv file format. If you do a search for model rocket electronic payload, you will see a lot of entries for medium to high power, large diameter rockets. These types of rockets are large, typically 80mm (3.1 inches) in diameter or larger. These rockets are flown in large open areas, often deserts and dry lake beds. These larger rockets also use larger propellants, typically in the High Power Rocketry (HPR) range of “H” and above impulse level. Not only do these motors require you to be certified in HPR, the motors themselves tend to be rather expensive. My goal was to develop a system that could be used by high school students. It would involve proven rocket designs that could be flown on school yards. That meant it needed to be small, fitting everything into a body tube with a diameter no more than 42mm. This would allow it to use “D” or “E” motors. It would need to be flexible. I wanted the design to be a starting point to allow them to conduct real science and it had to be inexpensive.

This project is for an iPhone/iPad viewer that is used to display FAA digital aviation charts. It also includes the support files necessary to prepare digital charts as downloadable tiles and a point of sale web site used by end users to obtain the charts. The viewer's features includes generating track points, which can be saved as GPX. The viewer can also be used to plot flights. The point of sale purchase system is Drupal based with a MySQL database. The remote device connects to the database using a Glassfish server and Jersey. This app has been available on Apple's iTunes App Store for over two years and has a 4+ star ratings. I have moved on to other things and while I've been maintaining it I'd like to see it continue to improve. That's is why I'm releasing it as an open source project.

This program calculates the two needed radii and the needed angle, which are needed, for building a frustrum. Input values are the two diameters and the height or side length of the frustrum.
