LibreSprite originated as a fork of Aseprite, developed by David Capello. Aseprite used to be distributed under the GNU General Public License version 2, but was moved to a proprietary license on August 26th, 2016. This fork was made on the last commit covered by the GPL version 2 license and is now developed independently of Aseprite. This program is distributed under the GNU General Public License Version 2. The problem of other image viewing programs is, that a blur filter gets applied to the image. This works fine for high-res photos, but not for low-res pixel art. Also, zooming doesn't really work either in most programs. That's why I made this software as an alternative to the default image viewer app. Also using the app is very simple, just open the context menu of a image and press "Open with Pixel Art Image Viewer". -
