Open Source Windows Mapping Software

NASA World Wind is a graphically rich 3D virtual globe for use on desktop computers running Windows. It combines NASA imagery generated from satellites that have produced Blue Marble, Landsat 7, SRTM, MODIS and more.

The Orbit Determination Toolbox (ODTBX) is developed by the Navigation & Mission Design branch at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as an advanced mission simulation and analysis tool used for concept exploration, proposal, early design phase, and/or rapid design center environments. ODTBX functions and utilities are combined in a flexible architecture that allows for modular development of navigation algorithms and simulations. The core ODTBX functionality is realized through a set of estimation commands that incorporate Monte Carlo data simulation, linear covariance analysis, and measurement processing at a generic level.

The Wildfire Management Tool (WMT) predicts the potential fire behavior of a wildland fire. WMT incorporates a 3D terrain viewer, the tenets of the Campbell Prediction System (CPS) and the Rothermel fire spread equations to depict fire behavior. WMT is used to adjust tactics & strategies to ensure the safety of firefighters and the effective use of firefighting resources. Requires Java 8 (included) - http://www.java.com/download

Punt is a Open Source multi-language desktop application that allows the user to view the terrain of any world in 3D. Using open standards Punt can make use of data from the Internet combined with local data in common GIS-compatible formats.

TransimsGui and makeTransims allow users to automatically generate triptables, timetables and vehicle files, edit individual control files, create batch files for transims feedback processes, run exe-control file pairs and run batch files.
