Luscus is the program for graphical display and editing of molecular systems. The program allows fast and easy building and/or editing different molecular structures, up to several thousands of atoms large. Luscus can also visualize dipole moments, normal modes, molecular orbitals, electron densities and electrostatic potentials. In addition, simple geometrical objects can be rendered in order to point out a geometrical feature or a physical quantity. The program is developed as a graphical interface for MOLCAS program package, however it's adaptive nature makes possible using luscus with other computational program packages and chemical formats. A toolkit of Python software useful in a laboratory data acquisition and analysis environment. Includes support for such protocols as VXI-11 (and its extension, LXI), Vernier LabPro (now very old), and National Instruments DSTP (now very old). Also includes data analysis and modelling tidbits. Python3 updates are on the way in the very near future for the biggest packages. the vxi11 package is fully up-to-date, although see the blog post about python 3.13

This project is a small program using Qt for calculation and visualization of electron charge densities in crystals and molecules. It can create a 2D plane of charge densities or create a 1D representation of the charge densities along a given line, in both cases it can also export the graphical representations to various image formats. The program can import various file formats such as space 3D grids of charge density values, created in a quantum chemistry programs Gaussian, Crystal and VASP. Wave functions in the form of .wfn files are also supported and serve, not only to compute the charge densities, but also laplacian as the sum of second partial derivatives of charge density. Thanks to the cooperation with the author of Jana2006 Vaclav Petricek, the program supports also multipoles obtained by measurements on a diffractometer. With all those file formats available to it, it can compare and visualize the differences between various sources describing the same chemical structure.

Eirik is a tool for exploring large data sets, by using statistical analyses and multiple linked visualizations for data reduction. It relies on R, QT4 and OpenGL. Developed as part of AstroGrid/VOTech, Eirik uses Ice and xmlrpc for distributed computing.

This is a Fortran Module that merges the performance of the computation of the Fortran with the power of a Python Package called Matplotlib plot the data computed by your fortran code. It allows you to divide you data into groups of datafiles and each group is stored on its own directory. It allows you to create different types of plotting files such as, PNG file for each datafile and PDF and MPEG files for each group of datafiles. It works with FORMATTED and UNFORMATTED fortran datafiles. When you call the main subroutine in this module which is called FORTPLOT, it creates a python coded file that you can execute it at any time to get the plots and take a decision about continue the run or halt it. So, with multiple nodes machine you can assign a node for running the python coded file created by the Fortran code to get you data plotted.

In consanguineous families, as a result of inheriting the same genomic segments through both parents, the individuals have stretches of their genomes that are homozygous. This situation leads to the prevalence of recessive diseases among the members of these families. Homozygosity mapping is based on this observation and several recessive disease genes have been discovered with the help of this technique in consanguineous families. The researchers typically use SNP arrays to determine the homozygous regions and then search for the disease gene by sequencing the genes within this candidate disease loci. Recently, the advent of next generation sequencing enables the concurrent identification of homozygous regions and the detection of mutations relevant for diagnosis, using data from a single sequencing experiment.
