The simple remote control requires to run the ameerokserver plasmoid on KDE 4.x. It allows to change volume and player tasks like play/pause/stop/skip. Tracklist can be read from Amarok and used to select a track. For Kaffeine currently only selection of special TV-Stations is supported. As that's what I needed.
