...The Interplanetary Overlay Network (ION) software distribution implements Delay-Tolerant Networking (DTN) architecture, as described in Internet RFC 9171. It is designed for use in embedded environments, including spacecraft flight computers and ground systems. ION 4.1.3s is the last version to provide both BPv7 and v6. Starting ION 4.1.4, only BPv7 code will be available.

Acronym PLUTI stands for Prophet by Lulea University of Technology Implementation and it is used for former “Prophet DTN implementation”. In the lessons when names “PLUTI” and “prophet” appear they are describing the same DTN implementation. This project contains source code and binaries for deployment of this DTN implementation to different computer platforms.

...The concept is that such an experimental code base, lightly regression-tested and packaged for distribution to the ION open-source community on a relatively rapid cadence, could be of value in non-NASA DTN research activities, including the prototyping of new capabilities as discussed by the IETF DTN Working Group. Consolidating into a single source tree as much non-NASA ION development activity as possible may help the ION development community sustain focus and avoid redundant invention. We shall see.

HTTP-DTN is a proposed extension to HTTP 1.1, which builds on the hypertext transfer protocol for store-and-forward communication between nodes over different transport protocols, to enable support for disconnected and disrupted networks. HTTP-DTN is at a proof-of-concept stage, with an internet-draft, papers and example code.

...It distinguishes between short and long contacts and introduces a novel and more meaningful rating system to evaluate the quality of each contact in human based deployments. Hurrywalla has been implemented as an evolution of the Bytewalla3 open source project, which is a DTN implementation for Android incorporating PRoPHET. Tecnalia has evolved this work so as to implement the HURRy protocol within the DTN stack. The HURRywalla release also incorporates the Publish/Query paradigm defined by BPQ, which allows dynamic content caching. This work has been conducted within the European FP7 SAIL project (Grant Agreement 257448).

JDTN is a Java-based implementation of Delay Tolerant Networking (DTN), as embodied in RFC 5050 - Bundle Protocol (BP), and RFC 5326 - Licklider Transport Protocol (LTP). This was developed with mobile platforms, such as Android, in mind.
