  • TortoiseCVS 'community edition' is not supported on modern OS installs, e.g.: Windows 10, or even the latest Windows 7x64 service pack. The solution? TortoiseCVS included in 'CVS Suite' works great! Just google: CVS Suite or google CVSNT for the March Hare web site. CVS Suite includes the CVSNT server, TortoiseCVS/WinCVS and CVS Suite Studio Clients for Windows and other essential components that you needed anyway is available and works on the latest Windows 10/8,1/8/7SP1 - as well as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 etc. TortoiseCVS always was a client GUI front end for CVSNT, and CVSNT (both the community edition and the commercial edition) has been produced by March Hare Software since 2005 anyway, so they are a trusted source and long time sponsor (look on the tortoisecvs dot org web site under 'contributors' to verify).
  • TortoiseCVS installs well Under W7/64 but unfortunately fails to accept any creation of repository and addition of any file (the context menu remains "stuck" with only "settings" and "about) While the application is 32b it installs by default under C:\Program Files instaed of "PF (86)". I tried install both ways to no avail. Could not find any help about that after googling for days. Had to remove it. Good luck to others.

  • I feel I'm going crazy. 2 days ago was 8 gb of free space in C. Today had 300 MB. After 1 hour search the problem I opted to uninstall TortoiseCVS! Now I have 8 gb of free space again!
  • Nice work ! Great project.
