i never had perfect performance on it, it was more a proof of concept then a perfectly refined solution that can get perfect on expert. i still have the default sensitivity and play feel set on it, I mainly used the vg-99 for the past decade, and now moved up to vg800 and gm800 combo. side note, the new generation of devices gm-800 vg-800 and gk5 pickup do track a lot better then the older gr-55 and vg-99 generation of devices. All the adapters I've seen have a switch for the mode, if it's detected wrong, I'm guessing the switch on the adapter is not set right, or broken.
