Thanks for this; that's really helpful in my opinion. I sometimes managed to "trick" locate into starting up to three instances on startup of the first by simply continuously double-clicking the icon.
Wow, that was a quick reply ! However; this error also occurs when I leave the default file-path in effect. I can't figure what could cause it ? Up here I never had to run Locate32 as admin, nor did I have to change any rights for any folders. The error may occur just randomly e.g. after a few days, weeks or even months after having processed it's nightly update-routine w/o any problem. I'm really a bit clueless, also I can't find the info about this languuage files for the help menu, which I faintly...

Hello everyone, hopefully this forum is still active, since Locate32 is pretty much dated by now. Anyway; I've used Locate32 for years know and couldn't basically be any happier about it. There's just this one error which would occur randomly. I have set up Locate32 to do a scheduled update daily. From time to time however, i get an error message saying "Cannot write to database file "C:\xyz.dbs" as a result of updating. I would have to make an all new dbs-file everytime this happens, disabeling...
