@Paul - Thanks for pointing that out. I can see now that you've mentioned this lots of times to lots of people... I should have done more reading first. I use Linux on my primary PC but still have a lot to learn about installing / managing software. I pretty much stick to apt-get to keep things simple, but knowing how to update software when needed outside of apt-get is obviously a needed skill... especially with Mint.
Right, that is the issue. Thanks for posting the URL. It's also clear that it affects KeePass 2.xx on Linux/MacOS too (Mono). I'm running Mint (Ubuntu) and the current KeePass package is v2.44. On Debian it's 2.47. I really hope the Mint repo maintainers will update to 2.5.4 when it's available. Not sure how to bring it to their attention though. I really like Mint, but they seem to lag behind in repo maintenance. Not always a big deal, but for security updates it certainly can be.
CVE-2023-32784 was published yesterday. It's a significant flaw in KeePass versions below 2.54. I'm hoping that making a comment about it here may result in an update to the Debian/Ubuntu package. Seems like the most current version is 2.45. NOTE: It's possible that this CVE may only affect Windows, but I'm not sure.
