Analyzed code and drawn a first model of the class diagram in order to figure out how to setup the type hierarchy in preparation for Cereal.

Branching out trunk to in order to perfom a mjor clean-up of the code as well as replacing the inhouse-made serializer with the Creral serializer.

Commit in preparation of creating a branch for a major restructuring of the bridge code. This in order to clean up and to integrate the Crereal serialization library.

I got a similar behavior but, the program didn't crash. However, it took 10 - 30 seconds for the Save as dialog to open up the first time after program start. After the first time, the dialog opened up right away. The same behavior was observed when selecting Open project directly after program start.
