On new Dell G15 Ryzen Edition using efi iso, get "DEFAULT_B00T_DEVICE HAS BEEN BLOCKED BY THE CURRENT SECURITY POLICY" in a blue popup, with secure boot enabled. With secure boot disabled, it flashes a text line too fast to catch and drops to a blank screen with blinking cursor. Not a critical problem, I have other means of imaging the drive.

That complex "exception" is actually a multi-step restoration of the image to a state in which files can be extracted.

No. It's an image backup, and you have to restore the image somewhere to see and pull files from it.

Mario was the Dell Linux lead for years and actively participated in discussion/support communities. He's on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook if you want to reach out.

Michael, every time I have seen one of these requests since you have retired, I've groaned at the pile on effect, but you keep on stepping up. Do you know Mario Limonciello over the years? I think he might be open to a reach out from you although he's at AMD now.

Not clear at this point what your hardware target is. You seem to be referencing another machine. Good luck, and please post back if you solve this.

You need to backtrack to HP support community. I think v 39 and some others of their firmware is UEFI broken. There are discussions that indicate downgrading to 37 will allow what you're doing.
