Pros: Doing this way works for multiple reasons. Visualization helps with "accounting" from an operations standpoint. I can tell who has what where at a glance. Thats helpful for us. Another helper here is pulling reports based on device types and activity. This helps our actual accounting when the inventories need to be run. Asset Tags! Asset Tags! Asset Tags! The IT side hustle.

Cons: Devices. You need to Audit before. You need to have devices in NT to get this to work. Very workable problem. With a little training, you can create your own devices and model them as you see fit.

Cost. It can get pricey.

Overall: NT is great. Support is great! You are able to get a ton of granularity from your builds. Links, what goes where and how it connects. It's a smart tool that you can tailor to your organization.

Pros: The ability to create and customize Nodes/Racks/Devices/Links quickly and easily for yourself, without the need for hours/days of training. Or submit a list of items to netTerrain and have their support team generate these for your to easily upload into your project.

Documenting every aspect and component of our network with netTerrain has been a game changer!!

Cons: Nothing specific comes to mind! I'm sure there's some addition features that would make things even better.

Overall: The Graphical Networks netTerrain DCIM SaaS service with netTerrain OSP Fiber Management that we use is an extremely valuable and powerful tool at an exceptional price point.

Pros: It's very visual and intuitive to understand. Objects that are unavailable can be added yourself or you could ask support.

Cons: I'm lacking a clear versioning. Sometimes you want to go back in time to check how things where connected before.

Overall: I'm very happy with the choice of my company to by this product and with the support I get on it....

Pros: Jason was very thorough and explained using links in a way that is quick and efficient.
Overall, I like all facets of NetTerrain. There are multiple ways of completing tasks. Very versatile.

Cons: All things considered, I do not have any cons at all. There is always a way to complete a task.

Overall: I liked all points of using NetTerrain. I have not seen a program with as much power or versatility as netTerrain...
At Conrail, we use all types of comm. Radio/ Fiber and ethernet are all utilized for our comms. I used this program to build a large fiber network. All employees can see the completed network.

Pros: It's a very intuitive, versatile, and powerful program, with numerous applications for implementing the various departments of a data center.

Cons: You need to understand the levels at which each element is implemented.

Overall: It's been a satisfying experience; you just need to be clear about the initial concepts. Of course, if they teach you, it saves you hours of work.

Pros: The ability to drill down for greater detail.
Discovery feature: Mapping your network.
Adding needed tools, pictures, and objects.
Port level connections.

Cons: Free drawing ability not fully realized. They have added the ability to draw a free lines and shapes.
Only one Project can be created.

Overall: I bought this software in 2011. Since then, I have expressed my issues with the software to GN team. They have been the most responsive team and have implemented many changes I have suggested. They will work with you so your Project can be fully realized. Great Product. Great Company.

Pros: The sales staff and support are more than excellent. They stick with you every step of the way in the process. When the subscription came due they didn't just send a bill they called to make sure all was well. Very hometown approach.

Cons: That we didn't have it sooner. Also how our new company acquisition doesn't use it YET!
