"Sort of like a Scrivener Lite, but with some tools even Scrivener doesnt have." Posted 2026-03-13
Pros: It doesn't need the internet, and it's free. The editing tools are the main attraction, IMO. If you are trying to avoid AI tools, it has a bunch of great monitoring tools that are not AI, similar to ProWritingAid or Hemingway. Shows a list of your word and phrase repetitions, all adverbs you used, redundancies, misused words, homonyms, "new" and "knew", "less than" and "fewer than" shows a list of your cliches, dialogue tags, proper nouns, acronyms, risque words and phrases, all words and phrases used to begin sentences. Shows extra-long sentences. Shows all the punctuations you used, etc, etc
Cons: I wish it exported to HTML.
It's rarely updated (but it's still easy to find).Overall: It may not replace Word or Google Docs, but you'll at least want to load your document into it and check your writing, especially since ProWritingAid is even more stingy with their free version these days.

"It looks good at first sight" Posted 2023-05-16
Pros: At first I was quite pleased with it design, workflow, easy to get to know it. I got into developing and creating a story pretty easily.
Cons: 8 days later, suddenly all text from every single scene, and I mean all = 100%, had vanished. Characters were still there, but what to do, when all the flesh has left? No copy or saved files could be opened or reopened and if only the emptied project was there. Hours went on and that was it. I could not retrieve a single word. I should have copied every line to whatever text program and save it elsewhere.
Overall: It needs a lot of precaution to to use safely. If you want to make sure that you do not lose any content you already created develop your own safety routine.
