Selenium WebDriver drives a browser natively, as a real user would, either locally or on remote machines. WebDriver is simple, it is designed as a concise and compact programming interface.     Pros: - allows you to execute a specific command on any browser by bridging the browser's bindings and Selenium's API.
    - allows you to reuse Selenium end to end tests across multiple platforms

    Cons: - can be a bit tricky to set up the first time
    - WebDriver API is limited to things Selenium can do, and therefore can't do browser specific features

    Overall: Selenium WebDriver is an essential tool when working with Selenium, that makes it possible to reuse end-to-end tests across all browsers without rewriting test code.
