Business owners, influencers, and non-developer users looking for a QR code solution to create dynamic and static codes
About QR.io
By using QR.io you will be able keep track of how many people scan your QR Codes, from where and on what date. Also for those non-developers, you can create fully customized landing pages for your QR Codes. No coding required! The outcome of both are pretty similar. They have their differences when it comes to changes, updates, stats, track. With Dynamic Qr Codes you can create a customized landing page for your QR Code that can be changed and updated whenever you want no matter if the QR Code is created or even if it went public. Dynamic Qr Codes also give you statistics of how many people scanned your QR Codes, from where and on what date. This QR Code type is most used by business owners (restaurants, gyms, clothing stores, etc.), artists, influencers, and non-developers users. Static QR Codes on the other hand can't be changed or updated once created and went public. Also, static QR Codes do NOT give you statistics of how many people scanned your QR Codes.

"Scam" Posted 2025-10-08
Pros: I would love to mention any pros but I feel so scammed by this company and their obvious malicious intent that it outweighs any positives
Cons: A QR generator is generally used on printed material.
So they give you one week to make sure your material is printed and then they deactivate your QR code, forcing you to pay for a long periodOverall: I feel very stupid for falling for this malicious practice. There really is nothing positive for being ripped off at €35 PER MONTH. With my printed material it means I have to spend €140 on this company while they promised my QR code was free

"Don't be held Captive by QR.io" Posted 2025-08-18
Pros: Easy sign up. Easy deactivation of Free QR Code, after you have spent money on printed material. Bait and switch!
Cons: If using QR.IO, or thinking about using them, run, run, run! Make a static QR Code that has link built in to your own website.
If their QR is on a sign, print the corrected one on vinyl and stick over the old QR.
If their QR is on a business card, just black it out.
If used online as a pic, just substitute the corrected one.
Never would I trust my QR to be at their mercy. Every customer click now passes first through their controlled website prior to being directed to your site.
Run, run, run!Overall: Very deceptive Company!

"They are a scam" Posted 2025-05-06
Pros: While some of their services sound good, and it was nice to see how many people used the QR code they created. But, the way they operate is actually extortion.
Cons: The Non-Profit company I volunteer for is yet another victim of their scam. They hide the true cost of their "free" QR code, and then they try to extort a monthly payment after you have distributed material that uses the QR code. Failure to pay results in a deactivated QR code.
We had to submit to their extortion for a month, to keep the flyers we already distributed working for that time. Now I am also considering if we should get a different credit card, to avoid them using it fraudulently for other purposes. The is good reason to not trust them with this information.Overall: A victim of their extortion. They offer a QR code, that is actually a link to their own site, which they forward to your own site. It allows them to generate some statistics about people who scan the code.

But, they don't really notify you that their so-called "free" code is going to revert to a service you must pay $35/month to have active. (it may be hidden somewhere) For us, and many others, their notification of this is only after you have already distributed materials with the QR code they control. No amount of features are worth supporting this company. -

"QR.io is a total scam ... don't go there" Posted 2025-03-23
Pros: What they advertised (free QR codes) sounded good. It was relatively easy to create them. But using them was another matter.
Cons: The "free" QR codes you create expire after a short period of time (just long enough for you to print them up in your promotional literature) and they demand a high "subscription" price (which you aren't told up front) to make them work again.
Overall: I was suckered by this total scam. You create what they call "free" QR codes and about the time you get them printed up in your literature, they disable the codes and demand a high subscription price to re-enable them.

"$120 for 1 QR Code." Posted 2025-03-18
Pros: Somehow, I wound up paying $102.00 to use 1 free qr code. The upcharge was for multiple uses. How can they charge the $2 and then charge me for a subscription? This is about a sketchy as it comes. If you are going to sign me up for a subscription, don't upcharge me for something I will already be paying for. They are scammers.
I cannot locate 1 single email confirmation nor receipt in my email. Not 1 notification that they were charging my card.Cons: They are criminals and charged me without any notification at all.
Overall: Beware of this company. They make it weird to cancel, as well. You have to select an option to continue your "subscription", which you never agreed to before getting to a place where you can cancel.

"This company is a fraud" Posted 2025-02-20
Pros: Easy to use. You can set colors, design, background, etc. But that is about it. Nothing else to recommend. See the big drawbacks below.
Cons: It is NOT free! They do not make it clear on their website that the "free" QR code you generate with them will only work during a trial period.
Overall: This company is a fraud. They do not make it clear on their website that the "free" QR code you generate with them will only work during a trial period. After that time, you get a message saying "Paused: You need to choose a plan to reactivate this QR code." And they you are supposed to fork over $35 per MONTH. Unfortunately, I used the QR code on printed flyers which are now useless. Several attempts to contact customer service via email asking for a solution received no answer. In the end, I had to reprint the flyers using a different QR code. Save yourself the headache and stay away from this company!

"Fraud" Posted 2024-11-02
Pros: There's Nothing good about this company! It's a scam! Stay away from them if you don't want to loose your time and money.
Cons: It's a fraud!! My team have generated 2 QR Codes in July/August because they make it look like it's free. Then realized it wasn't, but the QR Codes were printed and we needed a few days to sort it out. We had to buy 2 different plans, with the promise that we could cancel up to 7 days. We did it. They charged this 2 accounts and invented another 3rd account to charge for. They said the 2 accounts were canceled, but are still charging us for a 3rd account, and haven't refunded anything! Take care and stay away from them. I'll have to cancel my cc because of them!
Overall: Awful!! As I said before it's a scam to get your cc number and keep you charging for something you didn't ask for.

QR.io does not mention anywhere during the creation of QR codes that it's only valid for a certain amount of time. The company tricks you into thinking it's free so you create the QR code, and then create hundreds or thousands of business cards, or in my case, wedding invitations, which are then rendered useless a couple weeks later when the QR code is deactivated unless you pay a MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION OF $35!!!
Are you kidding me??? Now my guests can't RSVP unless I pay a monthly subscription!
I'm now stuck having a stack of useless wedding invitations, that have already been sent out to guests, unless I pay $35 a month, which was never stated to me during the creation of the QR codes.
This is absolutely absurd and this business needs to either make some changes in their practices or be shut down. This is unbelievably deceptive and there is no way this is legal. -

"Buyer Beware" Posted 2024-07-24
Pros: None.
Cons: I signed up for the QR code service mid 2022. I canceled my subscription in November of 2022. I am still being charged for this service and the "company" has refused to refund their erroneous charges, even after providing proof of cancellation, and has stopped replying to my email.
Overall: They do not have a customer support number. Buyer beware.

"Total Scam" Posted 2024-06-11
Pros: Easy to create a QR in the colors and design you want but that's it. Total scam afterwards and no other pros.
Cons: Force you to pay $35 even for a single QR code
Does not indicate clearly the difference between static and dynamic QR codes and by default creates a dynamic code which redirects though their domain. To keep this one active, you need to pay after 7 days
Very misleading website.Overall: Do not trust QR.io. There is nothing positive I can say about them. Avoid at all costs - there are numerous better alternatives.

"ABSOLUTE SCAM" Posted 2024-04-06
Pros: The 7 days I thought this was free.
Absolutely nothing else.Cons: After 7 days they revealed that they lied to me and now I had to fork out 35 bucks so that the magazines I printed and were sent to circulation don't have busted qr codes.
This should be illegal.Overall: Pure garbage, I was just scammed out of my money after fake advertising and fake promises.

Pros: I have to write 100 characters minimum but I do not have 100 characters of positive things to say about this product.
Cons: It makes out that it's free but it's only a free trial for 7 days and then you have to pay $35 A MONTH which is a ridiculous cost for such a basic service.

"Horrible product" Posted 2023-12-14
Pros: I have nothing good to say about this product. This is a scam website. Do not trust anything on their website.
Cons: Suck you in with a "free" code, only to make you pay $35/month after "trial" ends. I paid the $35 but then couldn't access my original code, so my original QR code was useless (of course I'd already printed on cards & such.)
Overall: Cancelled subscription because I couldn't use the QR code I created and inquired about a refund because I wasn't using said membership. They asked for proof of payment, which I sent, and then ghosted me. Can't seem to get through to anyone, although Carolina was the rep that originally contacted me about sending proof of payment. DO NOT TRUST. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.

"Very scammy operation" Posted 2023-12-10
Pros: The whole front end is a very quick simple way to make and customize a QR code. Very easy, plug and play, and gave you a few minimal options to customize the code.
Cons: I didn't realize I needed to create an account for this ONE code to work until I already printed the code. I tested it MULTIPLE times before sending it to the printer. I would have been happy to pay for just this one code, but if I want this code to work, I have to pay $35 a month for an account I absolutely don't need. I made this QR code as part of a Christmas gift. There needed to be more transparency at the front end before wasting people's time making the code so easy to create.
Overall: I am super bummed. I can't use this code--I can't afford to print another code. This was a real bummer.
