Supplier NCMR: These are mostly likely generated during incoming inspection and concern defects in material purchased from an out side vendor. In-Process NCMR: The in-process NCMR is caused by defects found during either the manufacturing process or when the product is transferred between work centers (found by quality control type inspections). Customer Return NCMR: This is when a customer returns a shipped product because of defects or nonconformities found. Other terminologies can be RMA's (for returned material authorizations) or CRM (customer return material).
