REM3D
TRANSVALOR
Based on a local density map, REM3D® provides reliable answers for the prediction of parts resistance as well as insulating, noise and/or comfort properties. Simulate a ‘dual foam’ pouring and observe the transition zones between foams of different rigidities. Taking into account "mold tilting" translates realistic process conditions to be as close as possible to reality. The integration of functionalities such as automatic mold tilting or the impact of gravity on the melt flow allows to analyze the real conditions of your processes to guarantee the homogeneity of your parts. The study of the positioning of the injectors limits the presence of defaults. Thus, you get reliable predictions concerning the resistance of your parts but also the insulating and comfort properties of the foams. For plastics with fibers, REM3D® determines the fiber's orientation during the filling stage and after cooling. -

Virtual REX
FishEye
Electromagnetic sensors include a “front-end” that generates and receives the electromagnetic waves through a subsystem known as a Receiver/EXciter (REX). They also include a “back-end” that performs signal and data processing, typically implemented in software. These separate subsystems must be designed and developed separately, then integrated together. The development of the overall sensor is slowed and complicated by the problems that show up for the first time at integration testing. This is due in large part to the interdependencies of these subsystems that cannot be effectively tested during development. Later, software patches, configuration upgrades, waveform changes, and technology refresh become substantially more expensive because they can only be verified by traveling to the operational site to connect with the actual front-end hardware. The Virtual Receiver/EXciter (VREX) addresses these challenges through the use of a simulated front-end. -

Parametric modeling allows you to easily modify your design by going back into your model history and changing its parameters. FreeCAD allows you to sketch geometry constrained 2D shapes and use them as a base to build other objects. It contains many components to adjust dimensions or extract design details from 3D models to create high quality production ready drawings. FreeCAD is a multiplatfom (Windows, Mac and Linux), highly customizable and extensible software. It reads and writes to many open file formats such as STEP, IGES, STL, SVG, DXF, OBJ, IFC, DAE and many others, making it possible to seamlessly integrate it into your workflow. FreeCAD is designed to fit a wide range of uses including product design, mechanical engineering and architecture. Whether you are a hobbyist, a programmer, an experienced CAD user, a student or a teacher, you will feel right at home with FreeCAD. -

Energy2D
The Concord Consortium
Based on computational physics, Energy2D is an interactive multiphysics simulation program that models all three modes of heat transfer, conduction, convection, and radiation, and their coupling with particle dynamics. Energy2D runs quickly on most computers and eliminates the switches among preprocessors, solvers, and postprocessors typically needed to perform computational fluid dynamics simulations. It allows you to design "computational experiments" to test a scientific hypothesis or solve an engineering problem without resorting to complex mathematics. Work is also underway to incorporate other types of energy transformations and support multiple types of fluids. The conduction part of Energy2D is highly accurate, but the convection and radiation parts are not 100% accurate. Hence, in cases that involve convection and radiation, Energy2D results should be considered qualitative. More than 40 scientific papers have used Energy2D as a research tool.Starting Price: Free
