"Not worth the effort" Posted 2025-09-13
Pros: A new platform without some of the philosophical drawbacks of more popular site.
A lot of ways to connect to groupsCons: Clunky app that crashed or stalled often
Inability to download pictures and videos
Web page interface is confusing, unintuitive and overwhelming
They began charging to see videos, even ones that you uploaded yourself unless you paid for premium account.
UI was basic. Looked like an old school website compressed into an appOverall: I ultimately closed my account and deleted the app. Didn’t sit right with me that I was basically being blackmailed into paying to view my own content on a substandard platform. I was a member for a few years so I gave it more than a chance, but the whole charging thing was a step too far

"Very poor system-impossible to log back in." Posted 2025-08-05
Pros: It's a good site when it works properly but that's the problem. The site has become very difficult to impossible to use.
Cons: It is very difficult to get any support on MeWe and usually impossible to get any support.
Overall: It started out as a great site but it has gone down hill ever since. It is impossible to log back into the site once you are logged out.

"No Stars" Posted 2025-04-12
Pros: At first it was great - I could talk to people and comment without having to join their page or group. we could banter without snowflakes getting offended. We could block people and use it pretty much just like facebook. then you changed the format and everything that was good about it disappeared. I was a daily user until you changed it up. that it went to weekly, now I barely even go.
Cons: I don't like how I cant talk to anyone unless I join their stupid page or group. I don't like how there is no one to talk to there anymore. or how there are no groups of interest. its just boring and so generic and it was so much better before.
Overall: It was like a crack dealer - start you out on real good shit and then over time when you are addicted to it, or are really enjoying it, degrade the quality of the product.

"Not working at all" Posted 2025-02-13
Pros: I don't know of any since I can't get to create an account on the platform, because of the hassle with login. Sadly.
Cons: Their login system doesn't work at all. It simply sucks to be honest.
I tried last month to create an account, where I actually succeeded creating an account, but everytime I wanted to login, I had to go to my email account to get a verification mail, which was a hassle, so I deleted it. I couldn't even used an ordinary password.
Today I tried six times in total just an hour ago - and I couldn't even create an account.
I can't recommend this media at all. Solely because of the login hassle.
Sadly, because I want to leave Facebook..
I guess MeWe don't want users.Overall: My overall is that the Login is so much of a hassle that it isn't even worth it. And the support is not support - it's a joke to be honest.

"Former MeWe member " Posted 2024-09-24
Pros: No free speech restrictions, no ads, open forums, talking with people daily. Ultimately it proved to be a failed social media site because of the new format.
Cons: For four years this was a good place to be online. When MeWe decided to stop the successful open format for something called Social Web I read about it and knew it would be just like Facebook, Instagram and every other controlled social media website and I deleted my account rather than switch over. So you lost a customer who had been on MeWe for four years.
Overall: A letdown. It is incomprehensible to me why the company would seek to alienate most of the people who liked the original format.

"Can’t log back in " Posted 2024-05-12
Pros: Can’t log back in. Once logged out MeWe will block you out. Will not accept password. No way to reset password. So delete app and move on. They will say a log in code has been sent. No log in code sent.
Cons: Same as above. Can’t log back in.
Overall: Can’t log in.

"Censorship " Edited 2023-01-05
Pros: I joined MeWe as an alternative to Facebook censorship and "Anti-Free-speech stand as they are promoting themselves as the "next-gen social network with no ads, no spyware, and no BS"
In the beginning, everything was going ok and enjoyed writing and sharing and was pleased.Cons: MeWe claims it is promoting "Free-Speech" and is the":
"Next-gen social network with no ads, no spyware, and no BS"
MeWe does not allow uploading photos/pictures with videos.
But, when I "SHARED" yesterday a news article published in a well known newspaper and a video on the same article from YouTube" ...
Today, I was VERY CHOCKED to find out that MeWe locked out/banned me from accessing my page and other pages for twenty-four (24) hours, which is still running even after the 24 hours.
Despite that the article and video, I shared, were published in a well know newspaper and YouTube ... the later is known to censor "Free Speech" ... in other words they are in the public domain, MeWe deleted both the article and the video as they say they are against their policy of prohibiting: pornography (which by the way I saw different pornographic pages MeWe allowed), scamming, impersonation, graphic violence, harmful threats or spam, etc.
Moreover, MeWe threatened to block me for extended periods and even completely deleting my account if I repeat the “alleged” breach of their policy.
MeWe did not mention which article or video that were … “Objectionable” … and did NOT ask me for any explanation or provided any detail of any person who allegedly “Objected” to the article and video I shared.
MeWe IS against Free Speech” …
I do NOT recommend MeWe to anyone … particularly those who are looking to express and practice their “Free Speech” human right.Overall: Extremely DISAPPOINTED.

"Not great for companies" Posted 2022-11-22
Pros: Lightweight interface, nice color scheme, not a ton of bots or spam like some other social networks have.
Cons: For companies/brands MeWe is not great. MeWe does not allow autoposting from RSS. Someone there suggested we hire someone simply to copy and paste articles to MeWe. This is silly. Every other social network allows autoposting from RSS.
Overall: MeWe had promise, but it's not a great place for brands if they do not allow autoposting via RSS. If they add this, it will be worth using as a company.

"Lovin' it" Posted 2022-04-29
Pros: I like that it is easy to navigate, I haven't been censored and dinged one time for a post. I have replaced Facebook with MeWe full-time.
Cons: I can't think of one thing I don't like. I am a big fan. One thing I do run into trouble with is loading pictures onto MeWe. Sometimes I have to try several times to load my pictures but eventually, I get them all on there.
Overall: When I first logged on to this app it was a little bit of getting used to a change from what I had been using for years but all in all, it is an easy app to navigate and I am loving it. I just wish more of my friends would follow suit on leaving the other social media they use.

"Excellent Platform " Posted 2022-01-15
Pros: No ads! Algorithms don’t control my feed, I do. Great platform for being able to find truth and not manipulated information. Glad I am here. Unfortunately, they are underfunded because they don’t sell their users to AD companies. This is both a pro and a con. Very hard for a platform to monetize without selling out their users. MeWe has held out. Hoping they get more funding. Really like this platform.
Cons: Took me a while to find good groups where adult content pushers didn’t jump in to the group. Also bunch of obvious scammers/hackers trying to friend me - you know the type - happened on FB as well, decline decline decline weeded them out. UI can be clunky at times - but hey, I’ll take it because the pros are way more. Unfortunately, they are underfunded because they don’t sell their users to AD companies.
Overall: Has been a good platform to join - we know who funded it originally so no Chinese Govt stealing data like on TikTok or Gettr. Also NOT the awful manipulative platforms like FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Overall a solid, privacy focused, freedom of information, not manipulated platform. What is there not to like? Thank you MeWe!

"Better than FB" Posted 2022-01-14
Pros: Lots of fun groups. Lots of good features I like that there's no ads and no algorithms. its growing fast.
Cons: Hard to get friends to move over. People are addicted to Facebook.
Overall: Best alternative to FB out there. It's growing fast and shows a lot of promise. Everybody should leave FB.
