OKD
OKD
In short, OKD is a very opinionated deployment of Kubernetes. Kubernetes is a collection of software and design patterns to operate applications at scale. We add some features directly as modifications into Kubernetes, but mostly we augment the platform by "preinstalling" a large amount of pieces of software called Operators into the deployed cluster. These operators then provide all of our cluster components (over 100 of them) that make up the platform, such as OS upgrades, web consoles, monitoring, and image-building. OKD is intended to be run at all scales from cloud to metal to edge. The installer is fully automated on some platforms (such as AWS) or supports configuration into custom environments (such as metal or labs). OKD adopts developing best practices and technology. A great platform for technologists and students to learn, experiment, and contribute across the cloud ecosystem. -

OpenFaaS
OpenFaaS
Serverless functions, made simple. OpenFaaS® makes it simple to deploy both functions and existing code to Kubernetes. Avoid lock-in through the use of Docker. Run-on any public or private cloud. Build both microservices & functions in any language. Legacy code and binaries. Auto-scale for demand or to zero when idle. Bring your laptop, your own on-prem hardware, or create a cluster in the cloud. Let Kubernetes do the heavy lifting enabling you to build a scalable, fault-tolerant event-driven serverless platform for your applications. You can try out OpenFaaS in 60 seconds or write and deploy your first Python function in around 10-15 minutes. From there you can take the OpenFaaS workshop, a series of tried-and-tested self-paced labs which teach you everything you need to know about functions, and more. An ecosystem for sharing, reusing, and collaborating on functions. Reduce boilerplate code, and share code in the templates store. -

Cloud Foundry
Cloud Foundry
Cloud Foundry makes it faster and easier to build, test, deploy and scale applications, providing a choice of clouds, developer frameworks, and application services. It is an open source project and is available through a variety of private cloud distributions and public cloud instances. Cloud Foundry has a container-based architecture that runs apps in any programming language. Deploy apps to CF using your existing tools and with zero modification to the code. Instantiate, deploy, and manage high-availability Kubernetes clusters with CF BOSH on any cloud. By decoupling applications from infrastructure, you can make individual decisions about where to host workloads – on premise, in public clouds, or in managed infrastructures – and move those workloads as necessary in minutes, with no changes to the app. -
