About KS DB Merge Tools

KS DB Merge Tools is an easy to use diff & merge tool for MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle Database, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite, MS Access and Cross-DBMS databases allowing to compare and sync both schema and data. Starting with a schema changes summary, results can be narrowed down to object lists of particular object type (table definitions, views, etc.), and then down to definition of particular object. Data changes can be retrieved as a high-level list of changes totals across all tables in the database, each total row count can be observed as a side-by-side list of rows for the given table, each changed row can be analyzed for changes in each column.

Various diff results provide quick filters to show only new/changed/new+changed items (schema objects or table data rows), ability to select required changed items and generate scripts to apply these changes to the other side database. This script can be executed immediately or saved for future use.

    "Life Saver! (MS Access version)"

    Posted 2025-09-27

Pros: Easy to use, intuitive UI. There are many options available for deciding what Access objects you'd like to compare. Also was easy to merge changes from one DB into the other. There are also a whole slew of reports available, which I haven't explored in depth yet, but will.

Cons: The only con I have at the moment is that I wish I'd known about this useful tool sooner.

Overall: To provide some background on my experience with AccDBMerge...

I'm an independent consultant and was working on an Access project for a client. Another consultant was working on another area of the Access database, and I handed over the current database, expecting him to use the version I provided, make his changes, and let me know when he was done so that I could return to my work.

Unfortunately, he must have used an older version to incorporate his changes, so I received a "Frankenstein" version.

If I hadn't used AccDBMerge to help determine what was new/changed and had changed, I'd still be working on it!

    "Perfect for software developers"

    Posted 2025-09-18

Pros: AccdbMerge is the only module I know of that allows efficient comparison of accdb files for programming. Especially in combination with version control systems like GitHub, the tool enables efficient work.

    It is also highly customizable.

In addition, Konstantin provides perfect and immediate support.

    Best regards, thanks

    Cons: N/A

Overall: The best product for Access Software developers.

And a very good support via mail.
    Thanks Konstantin

    "Essential tool for any programmer"

    Posted 2025-06-04

Pros: Easy to use and feature rich.
One of the best tools I've found for manipulating/comparing database structures. In my case MariaDB/MySQL.

Cons: The help can be improved. A wizard for creating queries could be useful.

Overall: Overall this product is highly recommended. I have been advertising this tool so that more potential users can use it.

    "Accdbmerge for Microsoft Access "

    Posted 2025-02-21

Pros: Accdbmerge compares two Access MDB or AccDB files and shows the differences. Access object types being compared can be limited to those of interest. The program display and interface is very intuitive and can be used without reviewing any documentation.

Cons: I found no cons but have a request. I would like the vba line numbers to be optionally excluded from the compare.

Overall: Accdbmerge does a great job comparing Access databases, does it very quickly, and visually displays the differences using color. This is the best program I have found for doing my compares. It has saved me countless time while fixing and updating Access code created by unstructured programmers. I have also had quick response to my email to support.

    "Best compare-tool"

    Posted 2024-05-27

Pros: Easy to compare two Access-Databases. You can compare the table definitions, relations and much more. It's cool to compare even the data in the tables.

Cons: It takes time to compare the databases, but there is much stuff to compare...

Overall: Very good tool to compare databases. It was really hard to compare the databases by hand. So I'm very lucky to use the tool.

"An essential tool for my database project"

    Posted 2024-01-24

Pros: i am building a relational database of premodern scholars using MS Access. Several students are encoding data for me. I use AccdbMerge to get their new input every day and update my master database. It works very well.
I only used the free version as I only need to update data in tables.

Cons: Installation is a bit tricky sometimes, essentially because of access and all its different versions. The author of the app is very responsive by email and this helps to solve problems quickly.

Overall: Excellent product, well suited to build a relational database when different users are involved in data collection.

"KS DB Merge Tools - Can't Live Without It!"

    Posted 2023-12-27

Pros: I have been using KS DB Merge Tools for a couple of years now. I mainly use their AccdbMerge product offering with my Microsoft Access databases. Their software has saved my behind more times than I can count.

I used to use a piece of software back in the day called Speed Ferret, and when that product was discontinued, it left a big void in my programming toolbox. However, once I discovered KS DB Merge Tools, I could finally do everything Speed Ferret had done for me back in the day, plus so much more.

I use it all the time (at least once a week and on some busy programming days, multiple times a day). The developer behind KS DB Merge Tools offers the best support as well. He is always very responsive and super quick at fixing any issues or implementing any of the crazy ideas that I come up with.

Cons: There is not one con I can think of. That's how happy I am with this software.

Overall: My experience has been productive and wonderful. I highly recommend this software to anyone who needs it. :-)

"Save the date - many times"

    Posted 2023-12-19

Pros: The software is easy to use with a user-friendly interface, making it accessible even to novices. It performs tasks quickly, which is advantageous for time-sensitive projects. The software is also reliable, operating smoothly without glitches or crashes. It effectively fulfills its intended functions, meeting users' needs without unnecessary complexity. Additionally, its pricing is highly competitive, making it an excellent value in its market segment. This combination of efficiency, reliability, and affordability makes the software an ideal choice for both individual and professional use.

Cons: The software's primary limitation is its exclusivity to the Windows operating system. This can be a significant drawback for users who prefer or exclusively use other operating systems, such as Linux. Maybe I had to try emulate it with Wine. Or in a guest OS.

Overall: This software is the best database management tool I have used. It stands out due to its exceptional blend of features and user-centric design.
