Pros: It is possible to send and receive emails and create meetings in the calendar.
The visible interface layer can be customized quite extensively with colours of choice, though this takes quite long.Cons: Buggy in every aspect; meeting pop-up reminders appear long after the meeting, new-mail slide-ins partly outside the screen and not readable, calendar management is a pain, new contacts not automatically saved, graphic glitches, loads forever on startup, long loading times for even simple tasks, general interaction flow is poor, crashes frequently.
(running on a new ThinkPad T14, Windows11)Overall: The company forces its employees to use HCL Notes, largely because they have been using it since the dawn of the internet and are reluctant to change. Everybody below 50 hates it. Support is ridiculously expensive. Can't recommend. To be fair though, it is still possible to fulfill basic tasks.
