"Excelent version control with minimal confusion and powerful self-contained features" Posted 2022-05-19
Pros: * One simple executable file contains all functionality.
* Highly consistent and easy to learn command set.
* Highly cross platform -- has been even compiled to run in a Raspberry Pi.
* Runs even in very simple hosting, requiring only CGI support to run properly.
* Easy to set one-way mirroring to Git
* Supports Markdown, as well as Pikchr for graphics that can be represented as easily versionable text.
* "Mini-Github" functionality out of the box.Cons: * Some of its design decision (e. g. no rebase by design) scares Git users.
Overall: I have most of not all of my personal software project stored in Fossil repositories, mirrors in the volunteer-based Chisel site, as well as an easily maintained configuration in SourceForge itself.
