About CrystalDiskInfo

A HDD/SSD utility software that supports a part of USB, Intel RAID, and NVMe. .NET Framework 4.8 or later is required to use the latest email notification features. NVMe support required Windows 10/Server 2016 or later. The installer does not support Windows XP/Server 2003(NT5.x). It doesn't support Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000. Not support Server Core. Auto AAM/APM adaption feature supported, enabled to apply AAM/APM settings on bootup or detecting new disks. Set wait time for auto disk detection or disable this feature. Intel/AMD RAID support using CSMI (Common Storage Management Interface). Please use the latest RAID driver. Writes disk information to registry for gadgets and other software. The field of buffer size supports a maximum of 32 MB. The filed of rotation rate is defined by ATA8-ACS. CrystalDiskInfo supports only IDE (Parallel ATA) and Serial ATA disks connected internal ATA controller (Chipset included).

    Pros: Free and open source.
    Lightweight and portable version.
    Also works wit nvme drives.
    Displays S.M.A.R.T. information of device.
    Simple and quick to use.
    Handy Shortcuts.

    Cons: No cons - it is a great small utility to monitor your storage health.

    Overall: CrystalDiskInfo is my go-to application for checking my storage devices health. I have identified issues with my older laptop HDD with it.
