Build Alpha

Pros: Personally, I use BA to develop, test, and implement a portfolio of equity strategies, with the modest goal of providing my family a little extra income each year. Our results thus far have been terrific and, more importantly, perfectly in line with BA’s modeling. Needless to say, this technical and statistical “accuracy” reinforces my confidence in your product and in my own strategy development process. As an aside, the value that your randomness modeling and variance testing provides is incalculable, particularly in terms of the time and money these two “filters” save me by not having to further test deceptively promising strategies.

Cons: While I’ve been a marginally profitable discretionary trader for many years, this is the first time I have ever made any money trading with algorithms, despite decades of effort. Only time will tell how permanent my results will be, but I’m convinced I’ve stumbled upon something special with BA.

Overall: In closing, I just wanted to thank you for the work you’re doing and the time you share. You are a true professional in a sea of charlatans and I am grateful to have found you and your Build Alpha software!

Pros: Extremely easy to test and build all my strategy ideas. I have even found new strategy concepts letting the machine learning build strategies for me. This has been a big time saver and would highly recommend this software to any serious trading system developer.

Cons: At this point I do not have any cons or negative things to add

Overall: Amazing customer support, extremely fast strategy generation, and reliable stress tests to validate all my trading ideas. This software and its creator are hands down some of the best trading information I have stumbled across and trust me I have seen it all. Would recommend this software (and Dave) to any serious automated trader.

Pros: There are so many entry and exit signals and functions that it is nearly impossible to even list them all. I particularly like the non-price signals like market breadth, term structure, treasury spreads as have not found any other software to test these. These things impact the market environment and conditions and in a way all the price action anomalies. Build Alpha let's me test any combination quickly. Big time saver.

Cons: Would like to run the software on more than 2 PCs. However, Dave is very good about moving the software to new machines when requested. It is just the one downfall of desktop applications but not a knock at the software’s quality or my experience so far.

Overall: This software has become my primary trading tool as it builds, tests, and generates code for all that I do. There are thousands of signals to test and I have not been bored with this software once, feel like I keep learning new things it can do. Not sure I will ever understand the depth or capabilities this has but that is ok. What I have grasped over the first year is more than powerful enough. Dave has lightning fast customer support and the training videos taught me a lot. I scraped my original portfolio and built a completely new one using Build Alpha so will update in a while with my journey.

Pros: Very easy to use and generates reliable strategies quickly. Generated code is clean and works well on both TradeStation and NinjaTrader.

Cons: Limit to two PCs is difficult as I travel and want to have an install on a work PC.

Overall: So far so good. I have already told two other traders to buy the software and Dave’s support is incredible. Not sure he sleeps.

Pros: *Covers every market and timeframe
*Tons of included data and ability to add my own
*Flexible interface to add/exclude indicators
*Super fast results and great stress tests
*Reliable code and execution of generated code

Cons: *Desktop so limited to two PCs
*Need to use virtual environment on Mac (Dave gave discount for Parallels purchase)

Overall: I have hired programmers and specialists for nearly a decade and am glad to say I am done with that. This software allows me to do what I need to do when I want to do it without having to hire anyone. This has replaced thousands in cost for me and can now accurately test my trading ideas. Very pleased.

Pros: Desktop software runs smoothly and allows to use all CPU cores for faster processing. Backtesting results match other broker platforms results. Data quality, testing quality, software quality all top notch.

Cons: Desktop software so need to have decent hardware. The performance will be based on your hardware but good part is no monthly cost/SaaS model.

Overall: Have tested all of my ideas and even found new ones using this software. Highly recommend for those traders that want to get into algo trading but do not want to program or learn to code. This software will speed things up tremendously. 5 stars.

Pros: Fast, reliable, helpful, professional grade, innovative. Backtesting engine is really fast. Wide range of data and signals built in.

Cons: None. I am unable to think of any cons at the moment.

Overall: This builds strategy so fast even on my laptop/notebook. Have been very happy with this software and hope it continues to get developed because it has been a game changer so far.

Pros: Incredible software and support. Robustness testing is top notch, industry leading. Customer support is also top notch and a big plus too.

Cons: Automating the entire process from strategy generation, validation, trading would be next level.

Overall: Dave, this software is so good I wish you would not sell it anymore. I do not want other traders to have this. It was very easy to learn and your videos have more trading knowledge than most paid courses. Thank you for all that you do - highly recommend this software.

Strategy validation is a priority.
Never experienced better support in my life.
Easy to add code to TradeStation.

Cons: I have not come across a con in my use of the software to date.

Overall: Build Alpha is a trader's dream come true. It is lightning fast and has more entry and exit signals than I knew existed. I have already found really great strategies and am in the process of building out my portfolio.
