Amazon Cognito User Pools is a standards-based Identity Provider and supports identity and access management standards, such as Oauth 2.0, SAML 2.0, and OpenID Connect. HIPAA eligible and PCI DSS, SOC, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27017, ISO/IEC 27018, and ISO 9001 compliant.

    Pros: User Management is easy.
    Integrates well with AWS services like Lambda.
    Works with Facebook and Google login.
    Supports encryption and multi factor authentication.

    Cons: Requires a decent learning curve for setting it up.
    Documentation needs to be simplified more.

    Overall: Amazon Cognito is a great way to implement secure login to your application. It requires some effort to setup but once done, the user management is quite easy and it integrates really well with other AWS services like Lambda.
