About
The Dude network monitor is a network management application that automatically scans specified subnets to discover devices of any type or brand, then draws and lays out a dynamic map of your network in an intuitive interface. It monitors device and link status using SNMP, ICMP, DNS, and TCP protocols, presents individual link usage metrics and graphs, and issues real-time notifications when services fail. The tool includes a library of scalable SVG device icons, supports custom icons and background images, and enables you to draw custom maps and add devices manually. Installation and usage are streamlined with a Windows installer or via 32-bit Wine, and the platform offers both a local client and a remote server architecture for flexible deployment. Direct access to built-in remote control tools simplifies device management tasks, while automated network discovery and layout reduce setup time.
