  • i love it and have no complian
  • They are all linux(es) with some few changes! and many bugs that keeps me wasting tons of hours to fix them!
  • It is an amazing os, however it has some shortfalls. First, I spent the extra money for Zorin OS Ultimate which includes "priority support" and a few days after I installed it I ran autoremove and it deleted too much and my computer no longer started up. At the time I was pretty new to linux so I contacted support and asked if there was a way to fix it and they never responded so I just reinstalled it which was no big deal but the support is the main reason why I bought it. Also they have more applications running in the background than almost any other distribution which absolutely killed my battery life and I didn't notice until I switched to Ubuntu. Also about once a week my computer would just stop working and I had to reboot which no longer happens with Ubuntu. The only reason someone should use this os is if they don't want all of the challenges of a less polished distro and I can promise you that if you use zorin you will end up having to fix way more issues than you would in a more popular distro.
  • Zorin didn't get their OS 15 download right, and despite choosing the use alongside option, installation froze at the location page, the 'we're sorry' crash report box came up, wouldn't close after half an hour of patient clicking on the close, turned off the laptop. Turned it back on and Zorin had stripped out the previous OS. It also did not install the wifi adaptor drive or networks, so without a LAN connection (I don't have access except for WiFi hotspot on my phone) I'm screwd. Open terminal, sudo config reveals over a page of failed install files. On top of that, something is weird with their forum registration process so can't get any advice from old hands. And their contact team....even Microsoft reply. I'd go Mint, I down loaded it with no probs when I first started open source years ago. I note that another reviewer, oyasuryana, had the same problem on an early version, Zorin replied that version 15 would fix that. Not.

  • I recently bought a newer PC from a friend. It has Zorin OS 15 Core installed on it. I'm glad it did. I tried another Linux Distro and to be honest it was nice but quite clunky. The only thing that got a 4 rating was features. There's only 3 things that take away from that, 1 the windows app support. Yes I'm aware there's Wine and PlayOnLinux however, those are limited in what can be installed. Which brings me to number 2. There are newer versions of software but in order to uninstall the previous version you have to jump through hoops. And 3rdly, I noticed that some apps aren't on PlayOnLinux and it's trial and error to try to install them. Sometimes they'll freeze the system. Keep in mind before this newer PC I bought I've had zero knowledge and experience with a Linux OS/Distro. I am proud to say Zorin OS was a perfect fit for me.
  • The creators make a lot of claims but fail to deliver anything even close to those claims. I downloaded the Lite version and installed it on 1.6GHz dual core Atom with 2GB RAM and 32GB SSD. These specifications are way above minimum requirements. Zorin claims the OS revives old computers. The truth is the complete opposite. It took about 2+ hours for Zorin to even install and it ran like molasses. Unusable. In fact, Windows 10 and Windows 7 ran much faster than this. Next time don't make claims you cannot deliver! I ran Zorin in a VM on my quad i7 laptop and it worked great, just avoid their 'Lite' version if you are looking to revive older machine.
  • I've been trying to find a distro that I can switch to, and so far, Zorin has been my fave. I like the lay out, the themes, very native. They only problem I am having is getting a USB cable(FTDI chip) configured for a software program that programs radios. Other than that, I love Zorin and would switch.

Hello, we're sorry to hear about your experience. We have now released Zorin OS 15, which is based on Ubuntu 18.04 and includes the same driver support as Ubuntu 18.04.
  • First go on Linux back in 1999 but ran into problems that I could not solve. Since than cycled through many distros with mixed results and never made it to get away from Windows. Until I hit Zorin.. Finally at home! Zorin is simply awesome! And after >2 years of happy use I think it's time to consider getting the commercial Version even though having no use for it.
  • In exploring Linux alternatives to MS and having the time I decided to purchase Zorin OS latest Ultimate, trusting the majority of comments. My machine is an old ASUS motherboard with a Q9650, 8 GIGS of RAM, NVIDIA TG220 chip. Runs WIN 10 Enterprise like a charm. Disconnected WD drives and put a blank one to install Zorin OS. I then decided, as they are available and TESTED (or so it said) to put the NVIDIA tested drivers as suggested by the Driver's applet in Zorin. It took 25 minutes and then asked for a re boot. The machine never worked again..........the screen was flicking black and a tiny attempt to start graphics. This was the end of Zorin.....................what can I say............... BUT...........I took the decision based upon a software expert to download Linux Mint x64 latest.................................... So, I started blank all over again. Linux Mint gave the same hint to put the NVIDIA tested drivers, which were the same build as Zorin suggested. This time only took 7 minutes and reboot. ALL WORKS fabulous. Even it gave me the colour pattern for the Samsung Syncmaster. Lots of high quality background photos. Linux Mint is incredible, AND, AND, is the same hardware, nothing different. Zorin give me my money back, I am not impressed. And this is a true story, I am not making up anything.
  • Everything about Zorin is excellent. I installed Zorin on usb dongles to replace another OS on the dongles and was absolutely amazed with Zorin's style and features -- and speed. There have been no screen freezes, no bugs, the internet including all the video sites is performing with excellence and Zorin is loaded with programs that actually work as well as if they were being run from a harddrive. I've not had to use support but I'm sure it's as good as their product so I gave it an excellent rating as well.

  • Very easy for Linux-beginners coming från XP. Zorin 9 comes with updates of the operating system and all other programs including security patches till 2019. Free.
  • NO LO HE DESCARGADO, PERO MIS 5 ESTRELLAS POR MI APOYO!!
  • We love it! They just keep making it better. Best OS ever and a must have if you are new to Linux.

  • Great everything. The only bad part is it seems to have system program problems more than any other distro I use, other than that, this is an absolutely amazing Linux Distro, and great alternative to Windows, my first Linux Distro ever used actually, and it made the transition from Windows to Linux a smooth one, and I've been able to use many different distros now. I've come back to Zorin here and there and will continue to, I hope to see Zorin 10 sometime, and hopefully it blows it out of the water ;)
  • With dougusa on this one. I really want to like and use Zorin. I want it to be my go to OS, my families go to OS but the problem is it just doesn't work on our laptops, mainly drivers. Sadly it's just not as accommodating as Windows 7. Installing drivers on any Linux distro is a nightmare for anyone coming from XP, me included. With better driver support and an easy way to install programs Windows users might be persuaded to jump ship. Damn sure I would.
  • A refreshing new design makes this Linux distribution a great addition to the Ubuntu line. The interface has a feel that's a perfect balance between the simplicity of Ubuntu and the sleekness of proprietary operating systems like Windows and Mac OS. The fact that Zorin OS uses the Canonical repositories for its software also make it easy to use.
