================================================================================== XBOX to PC Minecraft world converter v2.1.73.6 rc1 ================================================================================== What's new in version 2.1: ---------------------------- -> This release officially marks the end of the beta stage! -> Added support for biomes. -> The XBox files store unpredictable biome information and the program assigns biomes itself. -> This means biome conversion is not perfect! See below for details. -> Fix issue where if you converted two worlds in a row, you could not view conversion details for the second world. -> Fix issue where if you converted two worlds in a row, the converter might incorrectly report some files as being present in the second world. -> Fix issue where Minecraft said completed worlds need further conversion. -> Fix conversion details to show proper number of missing chunks for each dimension. Known bugs: ---------------------------- -> When no player info file is present, spawn location may be strange. Need a better method of determining a valid spawn location based on terrain. Notes about biomes: ---------------------------- -> Biome conversion operates by considering the highest non-air block in each column for a given chunk. -> These 256 blocks are then considered for the given chunk. -> Biomes are determined based on the characteristics of the considered blocks. See biome_readme.txt for details. -> Note that biomes are assigned FOR ENTIRE CHUNKS. This means that each 16x16 area will have only ONE biome, except in some special cases. -> This may cause some strange behavior at the edges of biomes. From earlier versions: ----------------------- Thanks to Rocky5 for providing his Minecraft save game extraction script. This converter uses a very slightly modified version of the extractor. 1. What does this converter do? The XBox to PC Minecraft converter takes an XBox Minecraft world and converts it to an Anvil format PC world. 2. How long does the conversion process take? This converter should be able to fully process your world in about five minutes. Instructions for use: ----------------------- 1. Double click Converter.exe. 2. Click File, then click Open. 3. Navigate to your savegame.dat file and open it. 4. Press "Begin conversion", then follow the instructions presented to you by the program. 5. Open Minecraft and play your converted world.
