UPDATE 1.00 Procedure:
Copy the update files into your application folder. Update your database schema with _install/vims-UPDATE-.12.0.6.1.sql/ Use either and SQL IDE or command prompt. (mysql < vims-UPDATE-.12.0.6.1.sql)
Two new tables are created, sys-country-codes and sys-region-city-codes. These are used to define where a user is allowed to login from. These fields are only accessible by an administrator account.
When a new user is created the defaults are set as “allow login from anywhere” (specified by selecting “* - Allow Any” in the Login From Country and Login From Region fields on the User Maintenance Screen )
This feature is only useful if access to the application is allowed from the Internet/Outside. If access from a Public IP address is detected, the “Register” and “Forgot Password” feature on the login page are removed, and the location that the user is attempting to login from is evaluated against the allowed areas listed in their profile.
In the next release, a Site Preferences flag will be added, to enable/disable this feature.
