  • VeraCrypt is a game-changer in data security. Its robust encryption features provide peace of mind, ensuring that sensitive information remains confidential. Easy to use and supported across multiple platforms, VeraCrypt is a must-have for anyone serious about protecting their data. Plus, its open-source nature inspires confidence, knowing that the software is continuously improved by a dedicated community. Highly recommended for individuals and businesses alike.
  • Veracrypt lost ALL my data w/ the wonderful "file drive not accesssible" message. I found out it's an issue that several owners have also had with zero solution except reformatting. Veracrypt is 'free', you get what you pay for. πŸ‘Ž
  • A worthy successor to TrueCrypt. Brings many optimizations and improvements while maintaining backwards compatibility: version 1.25.9 still works on old Windows XP.
  • I like this tool. I was working with TrueCrypt before and moved on to VeraCrypt. No problems up so far - works great and does exactly what I want.
  • I would have give Veracrypt five stars but tonight i really tought i would lose precious data (encrypted passwords and financial data) Let me explain: Since years, i used an older (and perfectly working) version of Veracrypt. Tonight, i wanted to upgrade to the latest version (1.25.9)... ...I may have done something wrong, but on new installation: 1 - i lost my encrypted containers ! Fortunately, i had backups. 2 - On 1.25.9, i got a warning telling me that using Windows 10 fast startup, there would be bugs... 3 - On 1.25.9, i had driver issues due to my older Veracrypt !!! 4 - I got a warning of "Read-only" archives.. Finally, i removed all traces of 1.25.9 and gone back to my older version. My most imporant advice: ABSOLUTELY KEEP A PLAINTEXT (UNENCRYPTED) VERSION OF ALL YOUR PRIVATE DATA BEFORE UPGRADING VERACRYPT !!!!!

  • Thanks!
  • Thank you very much!
  • Thank you :)
  • Have been using it for a number of years now without a single issue thus far. Hope, other equally talented folks can lend Mounir a helping hand in continuing with the development of this project.
  • I love this product. I started with TrueCrypt and moved to VeraCrypt after the prior went dead. Support and documentation aren't the best, but this is because VeraCrypt is open source, and the volunteers working on it don't get a salary. Like a decent human being, I have donated money to the project every year instead of whining and criticizing VeraCrypt, and I will continue donating to keep the project alive and well while I reap the benefits of top notch encryption. For those who write bad reviews about how difficult it is to use VeraCrypt, there are plenty of videos on youtube. For those who have corrupted drives/volumes, I have done that, but it's not because of the software but because I failed to mount/unmounted the volumes properly, especially when crossing platforms, i.e. Linux and Windows. Long Live VeraCrypt, and if you guys need my help to improve documentation and tutorials, you can count on me. Just reach out to me.

  • Fantastic Project, works beautifully!
  • Great work. Works flawless on many systems. Π’he program is constantly evolving. A high quality product...
  • Good program to encrypt data, just don't complain if your backups are poor and you manage to destroy headers (usually happens when people really not make veracrypt rescue disk/backup headers), however veracrypt have embedded backup header for non system volumes while for example luks does not!
  • Very good.
  • Incomprehensible instructions. Needs Plain English. What is 'volume', 'mounting', 'container', keyfile' - none properly explained. What they need is to assume a naive user who just wants to store files securely and does not need to know all the techy crap.
  • I've been using VeraCrypt for several years now and support the project through donations periodically. Others may use the software for little-used scenarios and have to dig into the documentation a little but I only use it for the basics; making volumes and full system encryption and have never had a single problem doing that. A huge thanks to Mounir Idrassi for his hard work and never-ending quest to make VeraCrypt better. It's already the world-class encryption method for files (make a container, mount it, drop your files in, close it. With a strong password nobody on the world today is going to decrypt your files) and disks and I'm not sure how it can get any better but Mounir always finds a way and adds more features. (EDIT: 05 May 2022 - Still using VeraCrypt daily, the newest versions are better than ever, documentation still great. Still never had a single problem with it.) Thanks again and keep up the great work!

  • Veracrypt is amazing, love everything about it.
  • Today's best and most secure encryption tool. Needs improvements, especially with virtual machines. And it needs faster attention with security holes and bugs. Perhaps more members to help with the project will be welcome.
  • 1. Read the documentation thoroughly. 2. Perform full backup of the entire drive prior to encryption (as the documentation states clearly) and backup important files daily. Store these in an encrypted state. We've encountered only one instance of a corrupt header upon boot. The rescue disk could not restore the header, but it easily (although slowly) decrypted the drive. We are extremely satisfied with this open source solution.

  • Started using this software recently, and I think I just put my hands on the best open source encryption software out there!
  • hands down best encryption tool , audited, no backdoors, open source, cross-platform, what can you ask more?
  • thx
  • The only encryption tool in Open Source. It might be the only one without a backdoor as well. We will never know.
  • I've been using Veracrypt for about a year now, and it was working flawlessly. Suddenly, I could still MOUNT the drive, but I cannot ACCESS the drive. When I click on the drive, I get a message "You need to format the disk in drive M: before you can use it." I have tried everything, but at this point, it looks like I have lost all the data. And if Veracrypt offers tech support, I have yet to find it.
