This GEMSYS folder contains a variety of fonts including some that
closely resemble the fonts of the original Atari GDOS distribution.

These fonts are free to use, distribute and modify, as per the licences.

They have been reduced to a relatively small size by removing unused
characters and renamed to match the names of the original Atari GDOS
fonts (where appropriate) and to differentiate them from their original
source (as per licensing terms & conditions).

assign.sys
----------
This is an assign.sys for the fonts in the folder.
Use this to create a ttf-gdos.inf file.

Note:
this and the associated ttf-gdos.inf file assume that your GEMSYS
folder is C:\GEMSYS. If this is not the case, edit the path comamnd in the
file and use ass-conv.ttp to create a new ttf-gdos.inf. The first parameter
is assign.sys, the second is A:\TTF-GDOS.INF, where A: is your boot drive.

The ttf-gdos.inf file needs to go into the root directory of your boot drive.
See ttf-gdos.txt for more details.

ttf-gdos.inf
------------
This inf file corresponds to the above assign.sys
It needs to be copied to the root of the boot drive.

Dutch and Swiss fonts
---------------------
The dutch and swiss fonts here match the dutch and swiss fonts of the original
Atari GDOS distribution.

The Dutch font is taken from the Nimbus Roman font in the ghostscript distrubution.
   https://git.ghostscript.com/?p=ghostpdl.git;a=tree;f=pcl/urwfonts

This font is distributed under the GNU AFFERO GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 3
(see the file AGPL-COPYING), with the following exemption:
As a special exception, permission is granted to include these font
programs in a Postscript or PDF file that consists of a document that
contains text to be displayed or printed using this font, regardless
of the conditions or license applying to the document itself.

The swiss font is from the Liberation font set and has been released under
GNU Public License version 2 ("GPLv2") with exceptions.

Please read files "GPL2.txt" for GPLv2 license and "Liberation.txt"
for details of exceptions.

mono font
---------
The mono font is a sans serif monospaced font, derived from the DejuVu fonts
which were in turn derived from the Bitstream Vera fonts.

See https://dejavu-fonts.github.io/

The terms and conditions of their use are found in the file dejavu-LICENSE.txt

Typewriter font
---------------
This is a courier font matching the typewriter font of the original Atari
GDOS distribution.
This font is a trimmed version of the Courier Prime font, and it uses the
SIL open font licence (OFL).
See OFL.txt and OFL-FAQ.txt for terms and conditions.

The original can be downloaded from here:
   https://quoteunquoteapps.com/courierprime/

OFL comic and OFL script fonts
------------------------------
These also use the Open Font Licence.

OFL comic is similar to MS comic, and is derived from the short stack font.

OFL script is a calligraphic font derived from the charm font.

The original fonts can be downloaded from:
   https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Short+Stack?query=short+stack
   https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Charm?query=charm

Dingbats
--------
Deep inside the characters of the DejavuSans font are the dingbat characters.
This font is derived from those, and remapped to be compatible with the Zapf
Dingbats character set.
It has the same terms and conditions as the DejaVu fonts.

Bullets
-------
Bullets true type font for timeworks (V1).
Also derived from the DejavuSans font.

*.txt
-------------

These are the licences for the included fonts.
