  • Helps a lot and is easy to use
  • This is a great bit of software, I really like it, but, and it's a huge but, installation is not easy and the documentation is...well, is there any documentation? Some years ago I installed it on a Raspberry PI, and the time is overdue - now that I've had a NAS for some years - to install it there instead. Can I? Can I heck. I can't make it work direct, and I can't even get a docker image of it running. I have spent countless hours on this, and now my NAS has been upgraded to DSM 7 I think the one thing I can say is that if I had managed to get it working on DSM, it would be broken again. So, sadly, it's bye-bye seeddms.
  • Works, easy install and use. But not enterprise ready! Not possible to delete multible files, you can´t edit the original document name, to many clicks for opening a document (you just create a website for each document who is linked with it, you must open first this document webside to see the document), auto import not possible, you need to program your own plugins for enterprise features. It is more an fixed file archive like a DMS. I go back to the old, plain filesystem.
  • easy to basicly install (on redhat/centos). great project free to use. all features, my users are waiting for, are include . basics users can configure acl easly.
  • What an amazing file sharing solution which is 100% free! It did take me some time to figure out how to host it but once one understands it is not that difficult. 10 out of 10 :)
  • I've tried several similar open sourced software. This one is the best. It is very fast, easy to install and to use. I hope it can store video clip as well.
  • To be honest - I'm stuck at installing it. I am an experienced Linux user since the late 90s and I know how to fix things to get them running and search for needed dependencies and stuff, but I cant get into this application and I dont get the point of the multiple installation packages and files. Why dont you just pack everything into one package and let people decide by config and settings what part they need on which of their server/layers? WhyTF does the user has to understand the architecture of your software to get it properly running? I was using SeedDMS and I like it, but after some time I need to move from my old server and - the f*ck - it just doesnt work due to it's not neccessary complexity of the installtion process.
  • good
  • Amazing project, most of the issues I had were solved in few days, Uwe is an awesome person to be honest, thank you for your free time full support.
  • This would be a good dms if there was one simple installation manual and other documentation. Now i have spend a day to be surprised with http 500 errors as soon i want to activate fullsearch. Worse you have to start over all over again. Waste of my time.

  • Thank you Uwe. This system is incredible powerful for a free software. It fulfills all needs I have for my personal and small business requirements. The continuous maintenance and development is a great advantage. Most free systems die after a few years - not so seeddms. I rate only four stars because there is no useable user documentation with how-to's and tutorials. Things like attributes, workflows, parameters need some documentation. - The wiki should be filled.
  • Very good Document management system. Perfect for shared working on different locations. Easy to install on Linux systems. We use it in a development aid association and we are very happy with it! Hope this project will be alive an long time! Thanks to the contributers for the good work!
  • This looks very promising and the demo is great. However if installation instructions are not going to be provided then why even bother making a nice looking product. I was ready to submit some funding to this project once I got it running in my environment but does not appear to be happening. Will be providing funding to another DMS project. Rating everything a 1 since I could not even get it installed. Thanks and good luck

  • Just opened my business in Canada about Document Management and SeedDMS is my number 1 choice !!
  • Truly for business
  • This is one the best document management system, the biggest issue is being the lack of clear installation processes.
  • One of the best free Document Management Systems, if not the very best. Simple, quick and powerfull. What is actually missing is a detailed installation instructions manual. That is why I only gave it a 4 in support. Once installed it ROCKS!!
  • A very promising DMS that can use some documentation. Simple and effective.

  • Good system. Installation and upgrade process could be better documented. Not everyone is an IT wizard
  • God project
  • Very good and simple DMS script - does what it should when finaly installed. Batch import would be great...

  • Takes some work to get up and running - but when up it carries a lot of features. Easy end user interface. The sparse documentation is a problem, but author is very responsive on the Forum.
  • Solved our needs perfectly
