Exelent Software!!!!! make easy and sort or long recordings, automatic rendering (video and audio)... mp4 output. I strongly recomend this software, not too light weight (47Mb), but is easy to install (you only need Java, JRE" easy to download)... I have used it 2 times and it works, do not waist your time on looking for other trial version software such as camtasia, icecream apps, filmora 9, etc... Thanks a lot for those who have developed this software... BRAVO!!!! I have chosen the "Setup Screen Capturer Recorder v0.12.10.exe"

Very easy to use. All options in one screen. Just selected rectangle of what I wanted to record, directory where to store files and framerate and then record.

Its broken..works fine 1st time and then stops immediately. Attempt to run again even in same session generates blank/dark screens. Same for close and restart.. 12.10.. Win 10.. no explanation for async version.

Tried capturing screen presentations at 20fps. No lag, no out-of-sync, no cut-video-at-end. Low file-size. Does exactly what I need, and what other software for some reason fail to deliver.

I use it to record web-video. Gives me great results. I agree that the configuration is not the easiest (that I have seen) but once you get around it, it's all good. My approach: a. 2 displays, the display 2, I resize to 1280x720, get the web video page in it b. setup "on screen capture recorder..." to capture display 2 c. play at full screen (filling display 2) and record. It encodes, as it records, directly in H.264 and MPEG-1 Audio. So I get immediately the mp4 file when stopping recording. Also, the bit rate is high 1GB / 45 minutes video. (note on H.264 config: there are no options in the pgm, so I kind of managed to modify the 720p profile inside the ffmpeg folder, seemed to have worked) It is a bit jerky on moving scenes, so not a good idea for action movies. But great for documentaries. I've tried other alternatives (Debut, ActivePresenter, Krut...) and this one is the quickest for a quite satisfying encoding. Also important note, I used it on a laptop with a i7, 16GB and SSD HD, so plenty of speed.

This is an example of how to fail at making video capture software. How do you fail so badly that it rotates the video 40-45 degrees, lags, and speeds up audio playing it at the wrong time? I can't find any video capture software that does worse than this. dl.dropbox.com/u/30270697/Archives/test2.mp4 (4.39MB) - I mean, wow. That was just utterly terrible. A total waste of the 48MB download I had to do to get this crap.

This software has mediocre settings description. Essentially turning things into a trial and error test until things are working properly. There are settings that work in reverse of what you'd expect. Regarding performance e.g. CPU and GPU usage efficiency things are even worse. On my weak laptop I could only record windowed OpenGL game at 15 fps and also needed to record at ultrafast preset and then transcode the output video to lower it's size in order to avoid audio-video asyncronization. This ended when I switched to FFSplit. Their screen capture filter it's much faster. No need to post transcode and on same laptop I can guaranteed record at 20 fps. I even think to try 25.
