  • This would be great if it were serverless. It's modern but not so easy to deploy.

Dear Rocketeer, thank you for your feedback. We have a very active community on Github that will surely assist you through any deployment issues (https://github.com/RocketChat). Other than that, you can always go to our Documentation page to read through our user guides (https://docs.rocket.chat/). Your reviews are very important - they help us to understand our users' problems and to solve them as quickly as possible. Thank you and keep Rock(et)ing :)
  • I used this at my last job, we built a live chat feature into our product and we also used this as our company chat service instead of something like slack. It definitely takes some configuring to get it to our liking but thats how open source works right? We had a strong dev team that made it work for both our product and our team and i think it was super helpful. If you're willing to mod it yourself then its a helpful starting point but if you want to just use it out of the box then it can have its limitations.

Hello Rocketeer, thank you for your feedback. We're glad to know you're using the full potential of our product by integrating Live Chats to your server! Feel free to reach us anytime.
  • The company I work for uses this now , they switched from pidgin to rocketchat. A major design flaw to me, is that with pidgin messages were tabbed. This allowed you to close the tab out when finished with the conversation. Rocket chat keeps everyone you have ever chatted to on the left rail without the ability to close that user out. Plus finding another user requires multiple steps. To me this is more of a chat app for Gaming or Personal use.

Dear Rocketeer, we're sorry your overall experience with our product hasn't been positive. However, we appreciate your feedback - it is important for the continuous improvement of our platform. About the Direct Messages, you can hide any conversation on your left menu by clicking on the "..." icon and selecting the option "Hide". If you're facing difficulties on usage, you can always go to our documentation pages on https://docs.rocket.chat/ or reach out to our community on Github (https://github.com/RocketChat). :)
