WARNING
The current release of McAfee Stinger exhibits malware-like behavior and should not be used. The 'McAfee Validation Trust Protection Service' (mfevtps.exe) is installed to your local PC without a prominent notice to the user. It can not be uninstalled and has no entry in Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall a Program. It starts as a service as Windows boots. The service can not be stopped using the Windows Services utility. The service and files can only be removed by starting Windows in safe mode or running the McAfee MCPR cleanup tool to remove all McAfee software. A link to this utility is available from the McAfee Stinger Portable page on PortableApps.com.
